Very gritty job. Crap wages and hard work.
|
i've got to dash to work now, but if anyone's interested in riding, drinking beer / mixed spirits tonight (after 10 or so) give me a shout on my cell: six four seven - two three five - eight seven six seven.

My wife brought home my embroidered Traffic Jammer Wear...... damn super cool. The jacket (Second Skin)is warm and comphy and can be worn when I'm not biking. The pants had been done in the wrong spot and a medium was too big (huh?), so it looks like I'll be getting a smaller pair. The fabric is killer, and they feel pretty water proof and stretchy. Great for putting on after a ride as well, say at the patio, or waiting for your next set of laps. I'm a lucky Daddy. So far the new MacBook Pro, is sweeeeet. Hey.. anybody have any ideas how to get the Mac to access Windows XP shared folders over wireless at home? I tried smb://i.p# but failed to connect to anything, ip# being the ip# of the PC as reported by my router. Network utilities ping the addy no problem. Last time I connected Mac's and PC's I was using MacLan. Set the Way Back Machine TM, Mr Peabody. http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/9807/waybackrb0.jpg Techforums.net? if you likes the CLI, you can use stuff like.. mount.cifs IP#/sharename /mountplace -uuser_name This is for linux. and since mac is using BSD like MACH, then i presume it's the same. Maybe try a the share folder and a username. |

That's very cool. If I did more sciences i'd seriously consider EMS. YOUR BEER was expensive.. ordering a can of Guiness at a pub who's draft consisted of just the Amsterdam triple. "DO YOU HAVE OATMEAL STOUT?!!" == ftw OP is hilarious. |
a CAN of Guiness!!!! I disown you

I wish I could go for a ride tonight. I might be able to make a 7:00 at UofT. I'm just too full right now. Ate too many double stuffed potatoes today at work. Bacon and sausage with butter, sour creme. I think 4 was a bit much.

Well just about to leave work. what a savage burn!
|
if you goto look at it let us know if replica or no...especially if you decide not to buy it
plus if anyone could lend me 5 bills that'd be cool, totally unrelated matter, my great uncle Leroy is having a kidney stone transplant & really needs the dough |
I've been chatting with the guy and so far it looks like a hiwheel boneshaker replica from when HiWheel used to be in Ohio. They retail new for around $900 USD. He wasn't really sure when I first talked to him, but the info he's given me so far, I'm pretty sure that's it.
http://www.hiwheel.com/antique_repli...er_hiwheel.htm This particular one is a 48" model. |

Yeah, the job is good for someone who doesn't like routine, this is very true. I did mine through Humber College and they don't require any high school sciences (this may have changed since I did it) but you must do well on the aptitude test to get in. If you are a mature student, that is a plus in your favour as well. By mature student, I mean over 30, not 21, like in university. You would also have to have some relevent experience in the health care field or some lifeguarding background or some volunteering experience in a hospital or something. I volunteered in St. Joe's emergency department and that helped me get in.
There really are no qualifications except advanced CPR; doing well on the aptitude test and having expressed an interest in being a paramedic (the volunteering thing) was enough to get me in. Helping people is a great feeling and there were some messed up situations, so you really do have to have a calm attitude (you'd be surprised how quickly a person will calm down if you yourself remain calm) and obviously you cannot be squeamish at all. |
In the US when I was younger all you needed was a HS diploma or equivalent & then EMS training. I had several friends that went that way right out of HS. I think ability to follow procedures, being quick on the bounce (not tripping out on the scene) & having decent people skills were the most important to them as they described it. Not much in the way of life sciences/biology et al, procedures take care of much of that. Their patients are going to go through another triage by an RN or nurse practitioner when they get to the hospital anyway.
More like firefighter/nurse than nurse, & hard work. I don't have the stones for it being lazy and all, but it seemed like rewarding work, not much moolah. |
