No no that was the gimmick to get the store off the ground , now it's profits.
Even with my pit zips mine gets kinda sweaty, I can't imagine wearing this unless it's chilly somewhat. Sweaty today. |
hmmm... The hydrocycle jacket was listed like 30 minutes ago but it isn't now! SOMETHING IS AFOOT!
Here is the URL (no longer linked on the website) http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_d...=1160576384682 |

Columbia jackets I get with my work discount I can't afford the fancy stuff but my Columbia does the job in the fall and winter
|
ps. I just looked, and my jacket isn't the Whoosh. That (and the hydrocycle) are both Entrant coated, but my jacket is 3-ply goretex. They actually don't make mine anymore it seems. My pants are Entrant though and keep me quite dry.
It's nice because I don't think it necessarily looks like a cycling jacket, so it makes a good general-purpose wet/cold weather jacket. Plus I have the longest arms in the world, and as a cycling jacket it's cut long in the arms, which is nice. :P Darkmother: these things still get a little swampy when you're riding hard, but it's still breathable. If I was going on a longer ride in the rain I'd probably go for something that would keep me WARM rather than DRY. Mine does have pit zips though, which I use pretty regularly. |

The page still exists, but its not linked on any of the category pages, and it will only show up if you do a specific search query for it. I dunno if this means that they will be scrapping the line all together? I hope not, I was thinking of getting that jacket. |

I ended up getting their "whoosh" jacket, because I needed one right away. When I was last at MEC, I asked about the Hydrocycle. The dude looked it up on the computer, and told me that there were production problems with the item. Specifically, the reflective material they were using did not adhere properly to the DWR coating on the jacket. I was told that the item was on the site because they expected to be able to sell it by now, but they probably won't have it until the end of October at the soonest. somnambulant, I think the jacket you've got is the "Zik" I wanted one like that, but I was spoiling for the safety yellow. Too bad they don't make it anymore, it looked like a good one. |
is it just me or does anyone else dislike the term "biker"? as in people at work call you "the biker"; i always thought a biker is a hell's angel. that is all.

There's a few:
co yen (334 Spadina) --> try the honeyed chicken sub banh mi (318 Spadina) --> I was here last week - not bad These are probably the best in the area -- typically $1.50 per sub. |
Kewl. Does Co Yen sell the banh mi's in paper bags? I like the classic ones, but at $1.50, I'll give the honey chicken sandwich a shot. Thanks all!
