Yeah I've been told I'll pick up snowboarding no problem being a surfer and a skater but I still don't quite believe it. I'd love to try depending on how much the trip ends up costing because I do have to go surfing at some point dontcha know

I've got nothing against x-country skiing.. I too grew up with a set of x-country skiis strapped to my feet. However, as I said.. backcountry is totally amazing. But groomed cross country skiing is for old people.

I'll try to remember to take some pics tonight. You gotta fudge the fenders a bit to get them on; very little clearance.

I also cross country skiied when I was younger. It just wasn't as exciting as downhill, so it lost out. I think it was also because my parents aren't very athletic and downhill skiing is easier and cushier. My dad doesn't even ski when we go on ski trips anymore, he just rents a snowmobile and cruises around.

I could see myself doing cross country skiing if I lived in an area with good trails nearby, but the idea of having to drive off to go CX skiing is silly, I'd rather just go downhill, especially if you have to pay to use the trails. Could be fun if you have a dog as well.

Dude you'll be tweakin' airs by lunch. After all those years of skiing, one long weekend snowboarding I sold off all my planks. I'm coming from skating since I was 11. Perfectly natural..... learn to turn and stop quick then off to cause a rukus. Blue has got some nice SB specific runs, even though the skiers are into the airs more now. Being a surfer/skater you'll be so at ease it'll be sick.

Dead Prez and Immortal Technique have been keeping me going recently and the Common album he's wicked.

I attended a Wu-Tang show with a very jewish friend of mine in New Jersey when I was in high school. Best. Time. Ever.

Somehow when I was 11 my brother took me to a digable planets show when he was supposed to be babysitting me. It was at a club! Pretty awesome! I REALLY have no idea how he smuggled me in wherever we were when he was under age at the time too!

When we were 11 (cause Shiz you can't be that far in age from me) the gestapo smoking laws weren't in effect so we could still get into clubs. I saw the Sattalites at the Bamboo when I was 10-12 all the time.

Yes, I noticed the G.M. as well ... owned by the partner of a friend. Always wondered where that place was.

She was rocking it freewheel styles en route to an apartment viewing (KHS yes, first year after the Aerotrack was discontinued but the Flite 100 had the same geometry/design).

So now that I've got my full-on hellish riding wear getup (LG neoprene booties, Burley "Ultimate Commuter Rain Pants", MEC Goretex jacket, LG Lobster claws and whoever's skullcap, Tifosi photochromatic sunglasses) I actually look forward to riding in revolting weather. The other day I caught myself rushing to finish a smoke on the balcony - I was actually worried it'd stop raining before I got a chance to get out and play.

... I'm sure things would be different if I was stuck out in it all day, but lately it's been fun to ride in.

Except for the smoke part!

I was looking at the L.G. neoprene boots today they seem a bit more effective then the MEC ones (almost completely open)
So as soon as I get a pair I should be dryer then last year.
Cheers
