I'd drop in to an emergency room and tell them what happend, you'd be surprised at how quickly things can go from "ouchy" to "worse" to "Oh ****k!", believe me, I was a paramedic student last summer and most of our calls were small things that got worse. I saw it all. Not to be an alarmist but you have nothing to lose except your finger/arm.

Not good i almost cut my thumb off with the biggest/ heaviest knife in the block so it was straight to emergency stitched up and a scheduled surgery cut my nerve & tendon still not working right & feels numb 100% of the time i rode while it was healing so it didn’t work!
I would get it checked out, because having a numb thumb is really annoying
