being an admittedly older guy I kinda like the more relaxed geometry, (better for my lower back). I'm kind of drawn to the wheel switch possibilities of the cross as well with the best of both world's in a single frame. I'm guilty of wanting several bikes now though as much as I've tried desperately deny my natural nurturing nature to any and all wayward bike parts that might come my way. It's so easy to suddenly find oneself with an entire wing of the mansion dedicated to all things cycling.
My ideal quiver would be a bike for every use and then some, BUT that's not going to happen unless we hit the numbers. Sooo a SS/fixie flip/flop ripper for street/track and a geared cross ride with an extra set of wheels for roading, and of course the mtb which will soon be SS and then rigid. Most recently been jonesin' for a bmx with pegs, and bars I can spin. |

Big fan of the bike by the way. In other news: I received $200 of the $350 owed to me by the guy that ran me over (he's paying the rest in a week or two). Cold hard cash baby! And everyone thought I was screwed. Over the last couple of days I took my two ****ed wheels, and trued them back to 75% perfection. Good enough until they pooch out. It took forever. It's bad for the ego, rebuilding screwed up wheels. The whole time I was thinking "Oh man, I've lost my edge. I don't know how to build/true wheels at all". I had to keep telling myself that the mechanic said they were beyond repair, so any resemblance to a functioning wheel was a miracle. I'm good for now, until I figure out what I want to do for wheels. |
The chocolate pecan pie I'm eating right now is so good I just had to share. Eff the New Years resolution.

If I'd known then what I know now, I never would have sold my Wicked for what I did, assuming he gets asking price http://toronto.craigslist.org/bik/259079390.html |

I just found this *6* hour radio show completely dedicated to James Brown music. Wicked!
http://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/1853 for the playlist, and near the top, just click 'listen'. Long live the godfather of soul (and funky funk funk) |
Okay, so who's Mark V w/ Level hubs + Dura-Ace cranks was it that one of my regulars bought and showed up with tonight?
|
Did you tell him there were a bunch of gears missing?

I can't believe this weather I spent Sunday sessioning hills in Burlington on skateboards. Totally surreal usually we can't get out much past October and we had like 15+ guys riding gnarly hills all day. Super cool. Its supposed to get cold after this weekend, a northern air mass should move in. But we'll see with the El Nino I don't think any weather model is particularly accurate these days.

My friend and I 'sessioned' the road going down to bluffer's park a few times this weekend. That hill really takes as much as it gives... We'll see how much easier it gets once I throw on a mountain cassette.
