I almost got married, bought a house and had kids. Kinda scary now that I think about it, but I can't say I wouldn't still do it if she was still around. Jammer's right it takes the right woman to get the "I want kids" response from a guy. But when you find that girl its like WOW I need to make sure this lasts.

Honestly, when I was your age, the same thing totally, fell in love and it all changed.
Last night was 15 years ago we met at a halloween party, and basically haven't been apart since.

spot the married guys on the forum....

i never considered being married a death sentance; just spent the summer in south america, wife and all. maybe kids cost a lot of money; a bad investment? no, paying rent is a bad investment, a computer or electronics are bad investments. jammer's right, kids will take care of you when you're old (provided you raise them not to hate you). money can't do that.
that said, am i nervous about having kids? **** yes!

Marriage is fun. My wife tells me this everyday.

I've enjoyed being married everyday, had wonderful experiences and traveled all over Asia the last 2 years from India because of her job. The only downside I guess is th 5000 pics on the computer that need to be edited/deleted to a resonable number from all the travels.

But she doesn't ride so there is always that issue.

edit: bikes, she isn't a bike rider.

Anyone wanna do tradesies w/ a frameset? It's this one, minus the decals:

I'd be happy w/ an old Steamroller or whatever (just lookin' for fork ends and practical). With my long-ass legs I think this thing's just going to have waaay too much drop if I build it back up. Size is a 53 I believe. I'm looking for something w/ a 54-55cm tt (horizontal tt preferably).

PS. Moving chews, but the new place is rad.
PPS. Effective top tube is about 53.5/54cm, but the drop makes it feel longer.

Yep, it was shared between us for a bit, then her's once my Pake was done, but it's too long for her so I got her a wee little Crosscheck to build up as a singlespeed (avec tied & soldered Open Pro/Formula/DT Comp. wheels). It's going to have a rack/fenders/Arkel trunk bag and probably the bars that are currently on my Pake.

Sounds good. I was planning on putting in some miles on my cross bike, but I could throw some tires on the spicer instead. I put my cross tires on the spicer last week because I thought it would look cool, but they are too fat, so the wheels can't actually spin. Still, it looks like some kind of crazy jujitsu bike or something.

Also this weekend seems to be the best forecast weekend in about a month. Sun and cloud, temperature fluctuating in the single digits. No reports of ridiculous wind.

yes, what is a track bike without a rack and fender mounts? is there even clearance in the frame for fenders?

I was never a fan of the sloping bike on the street, there was no faulting the KHS "budget" bike. A decent frame, fork and some 75's thrown in for good measure. a good back wheel and you were rocking. Sometime's I rue the day "fixies" became so popular. Gone is the day when I would buy complete Campy lugged bikes for $400. Sigh.
