hmmm... seems like I may have a superfluous almost brand new nitto jaguar alloy stem. I can't be bothered to get 25.4 road drop bars to fit in it, and I don't want to put mountain bars into it. And I only have one threaded fork bike.

What to do, what to do. Seems my employeers decided I was underpaid forthe past 3 months and paid me retroactively today. After paying off large debts, seems I have about $500 left to blow on bike stuff. The dilema is, do I get a nice hub and wheel build and fix the sexy beast, or buy a complete bike (or close there to). I could get a fix all done from Cyclemania for that price, or try Cavern, I think Keith has a fuji in my size for $500. I love the Wheeler, a great ride and I've put lots of work into getting it set up as a bombproof s/s, but it would also be nice to have a bike I can ride and not worry about which part needs fixing or replacing.

From someone claiming that they saw the Galvez accident:
posted Yesterday I was there on Saturday night, on what should have been a fantastic weekend with family and friends. At 12.30am (Sunday morning), we left Kuipke shocked and saddened at what we had just seen happen. I have to say that the medical teams, who actually were the red cross, seemed woefully inadequate, and it took them approximately 5 minutes to get a defibrilater to Galvez. The equipment needed was not even at the trackside. The poor man then had the indignity of being plunged off the stretcher onto the floor as they tried to run with him. In what is a premier sporting spectacle, surely the medical situation has to be looked at in the future. Fortunately incidents like this are rare, but in cycling there is always a risk. The initial moments after a crash are critical. Unfortunately they seemed to be lost, with a lot of headless chickens running around no knowing what to do. Our thoughts go out to the Galvez family, in what is obviously a most distressing time. I hope it is something I never have to witness again. Unless you ride and race a bike, I dont think you can comprehend the sight of a rider lying on the floor with a doctor pumping his chest and performing CPR. RIP Isaac |

I love my flite 100, but the drivetrain and wheels that came on it were pretty junky. PS. 500 dollars burning a hole through your pocket is not a dilemma. |
