Hey better then eating many cheese burgers & cracking your frame! But it sucks all the same. At least you were not far away from home or going down a hill!

T.J. has a frame look out woo hoo.

cavit8 04-12-07 08:17 PM

Pyze, I'm going to be ordering a half-link from misfit psycle. Do you want me to grab you one? They also appear to be having a minor sale, so I'll likely pick up a couple of chains while I'm at it. http://psyclestore.com/

Awesome. 1 halflink and a 16t cog, this one would be great.

Edit: Ah yeah, remeber to check that you are paying Can dollars on the site, I messed up on that and shorted the guys abit the first time I ordered from there. And let me know the shipping, I'll split the cost with you.

Okay, anyone else want anything to save on shipping? I'll put the order in on Saturday.

I am, see above edit.

jeremywhitehorn 04-12-07 09:02 PM

silly question: why not just buy this stuff locally?

cavit8 04-12-07 09:17 PM

Not silly at all, I do try to support shops east of Jarvis whenever I can, but I've been unable to find anyone who stocks half-links. Shapelike stares at the wall whenever I ask him and I'm pretty sure I asked Keith (but if you do have any, Keith, let me know). But speaking of buying locally, Keith, do you have a crankset in 144 BCD or, if not, a relatively budget crankset for which a 44t ring is reasonably easy to come by? pm me! :D

Danhalen 04-12-07 09:19 PM

Offhoff,

I'll let you know tomorrow if I'll make it to Dumpling House or not. I'm probably going to go home first after work. Then again I do live right around the corner from there... Whatever I'll let you know tomorrow. I'm psyched for the race. Should be fun. I really want to beat Sean McImsococky.

Colin,

You should decide you need to get some more film or something on set and call Critical Path to pick it up from some fancy film store or something. Say you'll only deal with "917 Daniel". Then I'll show up and we'll hang on set. Sound good? ROCK AND ROLL. Are you going to race tomorrow?

Wow that guy is really good. I'm amazed at his ability to ride backwards and keep it up. Wow!

i bought a half link a few years ago at urbane. not sure if it was intended for internally geared hubs or whatever but it was a 1/8".

and yes, staring at the wall is something shapelike does from time to time.

Better than me, creme caramel today. Close to tasting Mayo in terms of fun. Next week is better, merange cookies and then breakfast day on Wednesday, bacon, sausages, eggs, homefries. Going to keel over after that teaching that day.

Dan, excellent hookup with house of Dumplings, goint to start my unit on meat by doing beef and pork dumplings with spinach and black mushrooms.

50lb hips of beef turn me on.

Miscellaneous/unsorted replies:

1. Thanks for the tips on hills.. plenty of recommendations to keep me busy for a while.

2. I was at urbane a few weeks ago and asked about half-links for 3/32 -- they had them for a few bucks.

3. Good luck to all writing exams.

if i could get them to use bikes i would but there's already people on set that do those runs anyway(i used to be one of them). as far as racing goes it depends on when we wrap but it's an exterior shoot so it's doubtful we go past sundown(i hope). i'm in the middle of slimming down my camera kit right now to fit it in my courier bag. that way i can ride to work and i won't have to go from chruch and front to queen and bathurst back to queen and sherbourne. we'll see.

p.s. effing rain, eff you!

p.p.s. idiocracy is the worst movie ever made. what was mike judge thinking? i mean, he wrote office space! jeez!

"If you don't smoke Tarryltons... F*ck You!"

I thought it was a great movie, more similar to Judge's beavis and butthead work than office space..

To wake up at 6:45....take the garbage out and see snow....... oh the inhumanity of it all. Hopefully things will dry up. 40/60kph gusting from the northwest....urgh.

*channeling Jackie Stewart* "It's a grrrreat day for motor car racing. Unfortunately this crowd is racing bicycles."

I do have a few half-links...I got em from Misfits at the bike show. Do you want to replace both crank arms or just the right? I have a Sakae (bad ju-ju?) CX right in 170 that you can have for $10...I have a 110 44t ring for it...that is new and $38. Nothing in 144 unfortunately.

My bad for not reading the whole novel about your problem. I am sure that none of the numerous bike shop employees or home mechanics here would have one you could use/borrow. I hope the method Cam suggested works for you. Engarde Mr Snarkypants :D

i just had a thought: those fencing mask-helmet things would be great for wearing on the bike. keep bugs out on humid summer days, uv protection, identity protection and that stealthy, ninja look ala jeff goldblum in the fly.

Excellent, I'll swing by today.

pyze-guy 04-13-07 09:25 AM

IF, I get my paper done and IF I get enough studying done for tomorrow nights exam I might be able to show up tonight. Big question is, what is going on tonight? I know its a race/scavenger hunt but thats it.

TRaffic Jammer 04-13-07 09:29 AM

That's all anyone not in the know knows. Anyone in the know ain't tellin' least I hope not. Supposedly a casino late afterwards at the afterparty.... I don't know where. Oh this'll be fun...anyone looking for a second? I've been told Bag, Lock, Helmet. I'm iffy as to my scavenging abilities , but looking forward to it, 10buks for the fund for the race.

I_bRAD 04-13-07 10:26 AM

How big of a bag will we need?
