You bet. I'm in Cin study there, so I get first dibs on some passes.:D Don't get me wrong, the visuals were stunning, but the lameness of the dialog really made you remember you were in a theater.

I saw Sin City too, and I thought it was both visually stimulating, and an interesting story with good dialog that made it work. People laughing in the theater during a serious speech on the other hand is probably not a good sign.

I still recommend that people see '300'. For all the complaining I do, I still really enjoyed it.

That bike is ****ing ownage. I'd buy that.

Does anyoen know where to buy those 3ttt stems with the openable face plate that is threaded? Like the one Mitch had on his Fuji? It looked pretty slick.

So, I nearly got the crap beaten outta me this morning for tapping on some guys trunk. I was riding along in the bike lane on Harbord and dude cuts me off and jams on the brakes at the corner. I skid into a track stand (that's right) and then he starts rolling again, so I give him a little tap-tap (not too hard) as I start pedaling. Slams on the brakes again, opens his door and starts unbuckling. He starts yelling at me, I tell him he cut me off, he gets out and grabs for me and (thankfully had one foot still clipped in and in the "sweet spot") I make a few quick pedal strokes to about 25' away. Thank goodness for fat people... he took a few steps and gave up. Kept calling me a cun7 and telling me to get back there for "hitting his car". I wonder if Derrick heard any of it since it was just there by The Bike Joint.

I swore once before that from now on I take the zen approach. I repeat that sentiment. I'm sorry I strayed off track.

Also: when I left the house I had a flat tire.

Can I just go home, go back to sleep and start again tomorrow?

To whom it may concern:

Please excuse *insert name here* from participating in the rat race today, as he's already raced a rat this morning on the way in to whatever soul sucking activity he was scheduled to engage in. The psyche has been bruised and he needs a little down time in front of some form of electronic tranquilizer.
Possibly a big fatty batty as well. <--*whatever that means*

Signed

Epstein's Mother

Wes....*sigh* Glad he didn't git you in his belly, imagine the nerve of you telling him he cut you off. One day...one day a motorist is gonna pop out from his cockpit, ready to kill and be looking at a squad car sitting behind the cyclist.... having witnessed everything.

I salvaged my Polk monitors out of the garbage. Couple of fuses replaced and they are still going strong 10 years later.

TRaffic Jammer 03-07-07 08:30 AM

^^^Polks....seriously? a trash find? Dang^^^

I don't know what these jokers are thinking. Ok cyclist almost gets it...giant rush of adrenaline to a fit person with legs of muscle. I think I'll exit my safety cage, still mentally pretending i'm 1500lbs and can kill with a tap. Oh damn wait this guy is trippin'...yo yo ... oh S*&t... damn this biker is steamed....U-Lock ...oh no not my car....!

I had that happen. After the clown kept speeding up on my rear wheel and honking like crazy I stopped to ask the guy WTF his problem was. As I turned the cop was already at his window...I started to tell the cop what a jackhole the guy was and the cop told me that he saw the whole thing for the last several blocks, he would take care of it and to be on my way and have a nice day. I was smiling the entire day after that one.
I am waiting for the time the motorist opens his door to get out and gets his car door door-prized by another passing car. I have dreamed of this. Is that wrong?

TRaffic Jammer 03-07-07 08:35 AM

That put a smile on my face, just knowing it REALLY DID happen.

somnambulant 03-07-07 08:39 AM

The worst part is knowing that this happened on my daily commute and wondering if I'm going to run into this jackass again. *sigh*

wtf is wrong with people? Also: I'm starting to ride with my mini-u in my back pocket instead of in my bag.

TRaffic Jammer 03-07-07 08:45 AM

Is that the new Boomerang U-Lock made by OI! Catch-THIS-CagerTM.
I know what you mean Wes.... I leave mine at the office locked to the rack...

a... it's big and heavy
b.. I'm afraid I might use it.

I kinda like the visual OHNOYOUDON'T deterrent of the giant furgitaboutit chain.
Now to figure out a way of fixing it to my bag.

iherald 03-07-07 08:46 AM

Anyone have any experience with this Bike Pirate org that posted on CL? What's the dilly, yo?

somnambulant 03-07-07 08:48 AM

Oh yeah.. definitely a visual deterrent more than anything for the U-lock as well. As a skinny nerd I have no Fight Club style delusions. :P

also: note to self, 23c tires fit fine under the fenders on my urbanite.. 25, not so much. (stole the bontrager wheel off my lemond rather than fixing the urbanite's front).
note #2: 20h radially laced wheels look much cooler than 32h commuter lardasses. :P

I've yet to drop in there, but I've met the folks a few times and they're good people.

TRaffic Jammer 03-07-07 09:05 AM

So Bike Pirates don't raid delivery trucks in the core? *snaps fingers*, another mental image shot to hell.

Kind of like a Bikechain but for the public at large. Good folks.

somnambulant 03-07-07 09:20 AM

The Ricky Gervais Show podcast has cheered me up.. I'm totally killing myself laughing here.
