hey, thanks for the link! i tend to skip sites that ask me to get plug-ins..especially at work. i'll make an exception for velodromes and furry lobsters though.

Yeah, I'm not totally sure if it will be helpful on that particular link because I haven't tried watching it, but it's helped me in other situations when a Quicktime file isn't available. Plus it's free/opensource which makes me more apt to install it. :)

had breakfast for lunch today at eat-me (diner on richmond/portland). a tasty greasy(but not too greasy) all-day breakfast for 5 bucks. 3 eggs, sausage or bacon, toast, damn good home fries, toast, coffee. good burritos and burgers there as well. anyways, one of the wait-staff, tristan, had a nice pink miele conversion locked up outside.

I just won the auction for this bike for my girlfriend's birthday in May. I plan on swapping over some off the parts onto my bikes and getting the frame powdercoated pink (her wish, not mine! Although it will look freaking sweet). I think it was agood deal but I was pushed right up to my spending limit. Oh well, she wanted to go dutch on it anyways so no big deal! It will sure be fun to ride a frame that small back to my house!

As far as sizing goes, as long as I jack up the seatpost a little and put on a longer stem it should fit her well. I'll be sure to post some pics later once I have it rebuilt and she is riding on it :D

wow do you know how long i checked e-bay looking for something small 48-50cm never mind local, a few months gave up & got a new frame $$$.

I live in Toronto and I'm currently building up a fixie with an old road frame. Anybody know of any shops in Toronto that I can get a cheap track frame from?

yeah, Cavern Cycles (179 Queen St. E) always has a few nice cheap frames on hand. Plus Keith, the proprietor is a poster on this board and is an all around congenial guy. If you wanted a cheap(er) new fixed gear road frame instead of a true track frame you could get an urbanite frame from Urbane Cyclist at Queen and John.

nice shiznaz. that looks like an urbanite frame to me. but for that price you got a deal with the CK headset included.

After getting the bike back home I can safely say it was a most excellent deal. Its pretty much in perfect like-new condition save a few scratches which don't matter since its getting powdercoated. The rear wheel is unfortunately only threaded for freewheel so I may have to get it relaced some time if she decides to try out fixed gear. Other than that its very solid and the front end is super-stiff. The seatpost is also really long, so that combined with a longer stem I have and the fit is perfect. I plan on putting the king headset on my spicer and switching the selcof one to the urbanite because I'm selfish like that.

Dang - I'm actually starting to seriously Consider selling my 50cm Ciocc frame ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/timichango/tags/miko/ ) as I'm coming to the painful conclusion, after riding my other bike (53 cm) for the last 3 months, that the poor thing's just a mite too small, and I can't get remotely comfortable on it :(

On that note, I visited High Park Cycle last weekend, and met Jan (Gian? John?)... seems like an interesting guy to deal with. Anyone have any advice? He's got such a museum of goodies in there that I'm bound to be able to find something nice that fits, but how is he on trade-ins?

I totalled the car last night. :(
I got smashed on the front driver side by some crazy ass lady driving a hachback civic and she proceeded to drive away even after her airbags deployed.
I guess i'm fine... woke up with stiff neck, and tight chest. blah blah. at least there isn't any bleeding or broken bones.
anyways, I think i'm going to spend the day taking apart the car to use the back passenger seats as my new tv sofa.
playing GT4 while buckled into my seatbelt is gonna be GREAT!

and as for high park cycles.
the owner is a grumpy ol' b'tard and you'll have to fight him to get him to sell you stuff for a reasonable amount of money.
