I installed a brake on my bike (when we were on the island goofing around), in a sloppy and ineffective fashion! Its going to need some reworking... I'll have to destroy my pretty bar tape job I guess...

Friends of ours dropped of their bikes for me to look at. One is okay to ride after repacking all the earings, brake adjustment etc. The other one though..so far it needs new wheels, bottom bracket, cables, a chain, levers and brakes and crank threads are shredded so bad I can't get my crank puller in, and the bottom bracket is pooched. Time for a new bike. The parts are so trashed I can't believe it. The front bearings were rusted in the hub. My ride was in way better shape when I got it, and it had sat outside for at least 3 winters. If my camera was working I would have taken some pics.


On the plus side I might have a 19" frame soon. After I cut off the b/b spindle to get the cranks off.

There's an Ontario Cup race at Albion on Sunday morning, so I'm not sure what will be open. Keith would likely know more (if there isn't info on the web about it). I'm considering going up on Saturday to preride, camping over night and then racing Sunday morning.

DOH... good to know. I totally forgot. Might switch it up and hit Glen Eden then... Pre-riding OCup courses isn't that much fun if yer not planning on racing. I was out at Buckwallow the day before the OCup that was held there 2 years ago and it was EFFing mental.

They are conducting an investigation, but from talking to the teller, it seems that they can copy your magnetic strip and pin code with crooked interac machines. She couldn't explain how they produce counterfeit cards that can be used in bank machines and stores though. Maybe people have inside connections? I dunno. I just hope all my money is back before I leave on my trip!

Card writers aren't too hard to find. Just google "magnetic card writer". :)

Some UK place recently did a segment on this. Basically crook either replaces the faceplate completely on a cash machine or they place a fake faceplate on the card reader which reads your card details and a camera to record PIN.

They then program some other card with a magnetic stripe and then they withdraw money. If you see someone suspiciously hanging around a cash machine, don't use it. Even if you just saw someone else use it fine. Also never lend people your cellphone, especially to some hot girl. No girl ever talks to me so Rob never gets scammed

I guess this is another reason to try to avoid those no-name ATM's at malls or bars. Not only is it a huge fee, I would think it would be easier to **** with then the ones at an actual bank.

Frame Size Question:

If your crank is pointing to the front wheel hub (either side/foot), and your foot is clipped-in, should your toe touch the front tire (if turned far enough to that foots side)?

I hope this makes sense. I think my frame is too small... not sure if that is normal.
