Checking in. 14 straight days on the bike again, taking a rest day today. Knee feels great, down to one 3-4 mm wound on that foot that won't heal up, the rest looks great, still have some pain, trying to deal with it. It's frustrating. I'm sure I can get this better, it's close.
The new Corvette is too fast. If I don't post here again, assume the car killed me.

I am guessing you would win.

Speaking of classic cars, one of my patients restores really old cars. These are apparently museum pieces. Lemme see if I can drag up a link....
ok apparently the museum that houses many of the cars he has restored is here:https://www.simeonemuseum.org

GP4000.
I had two unexplained flats on the road (i.e., I couldn't find what caused the puncture) and two previous tyre explosions (one about a minute after inflation and one an hour+ post ride) and then the one this morning. Different rim today.
In happier times I've gone 3,000 miles or more without any tyre issues at all. This is maddening.

Now that I've decided that to put an end to major operations in the yard, MN has decided that it's time for April showers. One of these days I'll get on the bike, until then, at least the weather has been good for the plants -

I just posted on "Regional" looking for suggestions on where to ride in Westfield, NJ. It's pretty developed so I suspect the right answer is "nowhere."
My daughter has a synchro meet this weekend there, and I was hoping to get a little ride in. Stay tuned.

Hey LOP, Ramona, there is a pink Holdsworth tandem up for sale on ebay right now: Vintage Holdsworth Double Seater Bike with Reynolds 531 Frame Tubing | eBay
Looks like a pretty small captain's size that might be right for you guys. Maybe even Ramona could take the front. Woo-hoo!

Very nice!!! I often ask Ramona if she wants to drive, but she hasn't said yes yet.

Dude. Tyres made for regular civilians can't handle your level of output.

Conti put out a batch of Ultra Sports several years ago that just kept on bulging in the sidewalls after 500km or so. I know they were cheap, but they served Machka and me well for thousands of miles of randonneuring (more her than me). So it's not just the GP4000s where there are quality control issues with the fabric layup and moulding. The tyres, if I remember rightly, were made in Thailand.

...don't misunderstand, because I have some of those on a few gofast bikes, but my impression of your riding style leads me to believe you might be happier with something like a RuffyTuffy, or even a Schwalbe Marathon tyre. they are a little heavier than those Conti's, but hugely durable. The tyre sizes for the RuffyTuffy's might be limited to 700c (can't remember).
I guess maybe you could always go tubeless.

Who? In the picture? That's Pippa, sister of Catherine The Duchess, sister-in-law of Prince William.
