Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

right.. I've recently rented a big Hyuadai SUV (Santa Fe?). I'm not a fan of SUV's generally, but it drove well and had plenty of gizmos. Had a Kia Soul for a couple weeks just before I moved down here. It was decent as well.

I like that Hyundai Elantra wagon that they don't make anymore.

It's colder in Phoenix today than most of the country. Our fall lasted about 5 days.

But honestly, I would rather step down a level or two on the vehicle selection than go back to buying if it came to that.
After dealing with selling my truck, I will never buy another car. Leasing means a constant payment, but when you factor in the expense of repairs and resale value, it evens out. Plus I get bored of vehicles after awhile and with (hopefully) electric cars that can go farther than 20 miles on a charge and google cars coming up around the corner, it seems like a silly time to buy another gas guzzler.

I have no idea what you are trying to say here?

However, on the subject of nutrition, I've been trying to eat maximally nutritious food on account of the calorie restriction. So I decided to make a tasty lentil soup to which I add spinach. I go to the store and five pound bags of baby spinach are on sale. Only $0.50 more than 10 oz bags of baby spinach. So I course I buy the 5 pound bag. Spinach in my salad, spinach in my lentil soup, spinach on my pizza, sautéed spinach. I'll be damned but the two of us may actually polish off a 5 pound bag of spinach in a week.

Then I was reading about nuts on line and I come across this incredible recipe for Salted Caramel Almond Butter. Clever clever recipe that is homemade almond butter sweetened not with caramel but softened dates, which really do have a delicious caramel flavor. Roasted salted almonds, softened dates, a little milk and some salt. That stuff is like crack. You don't want it around if you're trying to diet.

Nice follow up eagle pics, BillyD!

Way to put your foot in your mouth, RPK79. Haha I was amused.

Mmm, that does sound good! Not exactly blue cheese stuffed dates or bacon wrapped dates good, but still good!

Delicious salad: romaine lettuce topped with some date slivers and thinly sliced red onion. With blue cheese dressing.

Tonight's session was low intensity base-building, with a twist. One leg drills near the end.

The fun part of these sessions is going to the shop and chatting with the other participants.
