Just remembered: that TV show is completely forgettable.

We all start to lose a little something upstairs as we get older. It's okay.

Doesn't seem too forgettable come awards season.

Surviving a 7 year run and receiving around 30 prestigious awards, "completely forgettable" isn't a term most would use. Fortunately, there's plenty of options and you get to vote with a click of the remote.

I had to Google the guy. Never saw the show.

Same. I have not watched any TV regularly for years, though. Unless you count those stupid HGTV shows that mrs datlas always watches, I happen to notice them sometimes when they are on. I think she has a crush on one of the property brothers.

Who doesn't have a crush on one of the Property Brothers?

Property Brothers, Fixer Upper, and Rehab Addict...great television right there.

Seriously though, Modern Family is a pretty good show for family comedies on broadcast networks.

Audio rack: coming along, as are some blisters. This is rough planing of the first slab while the second is in the clamps. It's amazing how, the more you practice, the better your tools get.

Obviously. It only won top sitcom award 5 years straight. #whataloser

Maybe you forgot how to laugh.

Looks hard. Much easier to connect part A with Part D using Connector 4.

When we go to visit the in-laws in VA, I usually end up watching way too much HGTV (they're retirees and don't get out much). Except for the House Hunters shows - I swear to god that they edit those show in the hopes that you'll want to fury punch the participants in the ear.

The only few times I've seen that show is in the waiting room of my Wife's doctor when I've been there for pregnancy appointments. But yeah, the people shopping for the houses kill me. Even more so after having gone through it myself. It's always some annoying couple that doesn't seem to know what they want and can leisurely browse any home at random. When I did it, we had a really strict budget in an insane market and the only way we got the house we did was random luck and we didn't have any choices outside of that one house just because of the market.

Yeah, but how much fun is it to do things the easy way?

Although, I will admit that I like the rough, hand-planed look that the slab sits at, right now (if you look at wood flooring, you'll see some that mimic the look of being planed with a cambered blade). I'm kinda thinking of leaving it somewhat rough and rustic...

We watched it having spent a good amount of time in the NYC housing market. Seeing people in Montana ***** that a $150k property was "only" 2500 sq feet just made me angry. Then there were the people that didn't like otherwise great places because of the paint colors on the walls. Or the people that were shopping for a fixer-upper but didn't like the carpeting. ****ers.

I am trying to resist. That original post is such a morass displaying as it does the improper and ineffective use of punctuation, capitalization, and sentence fragments that it would be easy to spend way too much time deconstructing then reconstructing it.

Two sentences that set me off immediately were "My weight was also through the roof! I was 30lbs overweight!" Seriously?! WTF, man?! What kind of body dysmorphic world does this guy live in? Would I be happy if I were thirty pounds overweight or if LoP was? No, but I had gestational diabetes and have other family history so it's not just for aesthetic reasons or cuz I'd have to help pedal both of us up hills. That being said, did this poster pause for even a moment to consider how some of the Clydes and Athenas who started out riding or are now riding their bikes weighing 100 pounds more than their doctor would advise would feel reading his assessment? "Geez. If this guy's weight was through the roof at thirty pounds over, what does that make me?" What an inconsiderate jackass!

Of course, we could tell that right off by the way he pushed to the front of the pack thus forcing the better riders to reroute around his nearly lifeless form should he collapse from his attempt to power through on adrenaline instead of air. I'm just sorry he didn't throw up when he wanted to.

Wait. Are you saying that a TV industry award can be described as prestigious?

I suppose I have to admit that Modern Family is every bit as good as Survivor: Botswanaland.

I was having a couple bathrooms remodeled a couple years ago and my wife had the HGTV channel on. The head guy comes out of the bathroom, loos at the TV and says, "I'd have increased my estimate if I knew you were one of those people that watches home improvement shows."

I would rather have a crush on Christina from flip/flop. I jokingly call Tarek and Christina "Ken and Barbie" to annoy my wife.

datlas 11-09-15 04:43 PM

Survivor is another show I have not seen.

I think the last regular-network show I followed was "LOST" and even stopped watching that before it ended when they got bizarro on the plots and sub-plots and time-lines. Was kinda watching "Mad Men" a little, but even that's gone.

I'm with you there. She is pretty cute.

Did you ever notice how they are always borrowing money? They always say they made this or made that but they're always broke.
