Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I think that is a good choice for heavier riders. I don't get it, personally.

It's a perfectly good set of wheels that will take a beating. I think they would be perfect on a commuter or touring bike, or even just a classic steel frame. They look fine on the Ti bike. Nothing wrong with a strong set of wheels.

The only reason I had to make a snarky comment is because Robert has a good point regarding the cassette. I have an Ultegra cassette on my carbon DA wonder-bike. DA cassettes are a waste of money unless you NEED that reduced weight. But hey, it's his money.

You should start a thread about this. Also ask if you got a good deal on the new bars.

Wait - is the accusation that the gym ***** was flaunting her stuff in front of you, or what? Do I need to re-think a gym membership?

That is the accusation and it may not be unfounded. The gym ***** did walk past two or three other identical ellipticals to use the one right next to mine, and she did walk past a garbage can just to be able to stop directly in front of where I was sitting to toss out the towel used to wipe down her machine.

I'm still thinking it was all coincidence. Contrary to my wife's thinking I don't think there are hot (not that I was looking!) 20 somethings trolling for mid 30's married guys at our gym, but I guess you never know...

You can participate at our shop all winter for less than most people spend on cold weather gear.

Bonus: no crashing because of patchy ice.

haha im the same way, i was doing that exact same thing a few months ago and for 2 weeks the mrs would make fun of me every time i was on the computer.

"what are you doing, looking at porn?"
"no, reading reviews on bags"
"ok weirdo"

so i know where youre coming from, and would certainly appreciate the reviews.
i like youtube for "unboxing" videos, gives you a better idea of size and quality and functions that photos cant

Also, I saw improvements that friends made last year after a regimented program. Granted, it sucks, but the results speak for themselves. Ask Heathpak ; trainers produce results.

Last winter I put in a bunch of trainer hours and then tax season came around and I stopped basically all bike related activity for a few months. I'm pretty sure all my gains were lost.

I'm mid-way between your position and your wife's - not a coincidence, but she's not trolling for mid-30s married guy; there's a big difference between wanting someone and wanting someone to want you.

Aww, damn. Pacenti website is under maintenance. Wonder if that means that $40 lo-pro rim deal is over.

you can sorta do it free at home with Zwift beta workouts now.. just need a PC, a power meter and an ANT+ stick.

I think they are getting pretty close to switching to a pay for it model though.

You can do Zwift with an approved trainer and a speed sensor. Don't need a power meter.

I will take it under advisement. Still would rather HTFU and ride outside unless roads unsafe.

TrainerRoad and the Soprano's. Or, World Poker Tour, or YouTube the Indy 500, or, or, or.... Lots of ways to skin that cat.

TrainerRoad has a workout builder that's the stuff.

Meh, I'm over it. Outdoor winter activities suck. I'll go out a few times if conditions aren't too bad otherwise I'm staying inside.
