Am I going to regret not getting in on "What Makes a Bike Fast". I just can't bear to read someone say "the engine" one more time. But it has such potential for greatness. And coming in late is no good; having to catch up from two or three pages behind. I am completely conflicted.

Actually I am a big proponent of e-bikes with proportional power assist for the purpose of levelling the abilities of folks riding together. Like the handicap in golf. I could go out with much better riders and keep up with them. There would be no deceit. I would surely disclose my advantage. But the point is that guys of different abilities could all ride together. I think that would be neat.

I think that it would be potentially problematic with guys that could physically go fast (with assist) but without the saddle time to have the situational experience, finesse and judgment necessary for fast group rides.

Yeah, probably worth it. I have TR though already, not sure both are warranted. TR does a nice job of integrating Sufferfest video with power.
Not much of a fan of the virtual power thing (dumb trainer power curves) on Zwift. Pretty far from being accurate or even consistent... but I suppose better than nothing.

There's a local guy that talks a big game and feels the need to put down everyone else, every now and then he will join our group. Those days I put the hammer down and drop the group repeatedly to show him who's boss. I'm not sure if that's a testosterone thing, I mean it is in it's simplest form, but I'm mostly just trying to get him to shut up.

...my old man took me aside one day just after I started high school and told me," We can't afford to send you to college, so if you really want to go, try to work hard and do well in school. It's already costing us some money just to send you to Catholic high school." Worked for me. You could try that.

My wife told me to pick a football team to follow, such that I would watch football with her. So I am now a Cleveland Browns fan. No. Really.

Bikes: Felt Brougham, Lotus Prestige, Cinelli Xperience,
1. Couldn't pick an undefeated team. That is jumping on a bandwagon.
2. Couldn't pick an expansion team. They seem made up.
3. Couldn't pick a team in Dallas's division. That would be a hostile home front.
4. Couldn't pick Buffalo. Because they are Buffalo.
5. Wanted to be in driving distance, in case I ever actually wanted to attend a game. (I won't).
6. Wanted to be able to afford a ticket once I didn't get there (Wife just paid $1k to see Dallas in Dallas lose to the Patriots).
But all that aside, my main reason was Ernie Davis.

8. Wanted to cheer for a team that may always be better next year.
