Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

During my banking/accounting days, all of my suit pants were rigged for suspenders. I had about a half dozen sets of suspenders. I mostly wear jeans these days which are just fine with belts.

I always wear suspenders with a suit or sports jacket but never with a pullover sweater for the obvious reason.

Oooh, one of the TV stations is saying Rain/Snow mix on Tuesday. I hope they're a little off and we get a foot of snow!

I saw a county snowplow out today, so this might be serious!!!

Gunter 6 weeks post op. He has something to say to me today about all this ridiculous bed rest I've prescribed and my instructions for a lifestyle change. Ie don't be a wild thing, little Doxie. I got an earful about that. Good thing this dog can't type or I'd hear about it on yelp, I'm sure.

PS I was double booked at 11am- Gunter the 10 pound Doxie and Wally the 200 pound Great Dane. A study in contrasts.

We haven't had a snowy CX event yet. I have two more chances, before my season is over.

For that problem, I've just been clipping them off when I need to and leaving them hanging over my shoulders while still underneath the sweater. It's easy enough to reattach afterwards.

Maybe if I had less of a gut, belts wouldn't suck as much for me. Maybe I should, oh I don't know, ride my freaking bike more and lay off the sweets.

Suspenders are back. Buy yourself a nice set or two and wear them with a dress shirt and a tie (don't forget the tie clip). I've been wearing suspenders for the last five years.

My sister is flying up from Alabama for turkey day and she lined up a job interview in Minneapolis on the Friday after.

Alternative solution: The Mr. Rogers approach.

Must color coordinate suspenders (aka braces) and tie. A tie clip never has been, is not now, and never will be fashionable. Like an engineer's pen case, calculator or slide rule.

Trust me, the tie clip is and always was fashionable. What wasn't fashionable was those 5" inch dinner bibs that guys used to wear around their necks instead of ties.

For example...

.
...thanks to @Rowan's help here, I have now devised a strategy to foil the alien invasion of the threadlockers.

If I remember to buy all my blue threadlocker from Permatex, and all my red threadlocker from Loctite, the only place I will need my glasses is for the green stuff.
