Meh. A couple of half height teeth and a couple of pins, still doesn't justify some of the prices.

I think the main reason prices seems so out of line is that the market for replacement chainrings has to be pretty small. I have put a lot of miles on some of my cranksets and have never had to replace a chainring. I'll probably just put the old crankset up on Ebay as 'barely used, like new!' when I finally do wear one out and replace the whole crank ;)

Here are some chainrings....

Sometimes I think about getting some nutless chainrings for my fixed gear. Even 1/8" of threaded aluminium seems kinda sketchy to me but hey, you only live twice, right?

Don't be ascared.

I've said on many a post in this forum that I'm extremely vain. While lots of people here truly can just "enjoy the ride" and not get caught up in the little things, there are people like me that obsess over every small detail. When I'm riding the bike, no, it doesn't matter and I enjoy the ride regardless, and it doesn't even enter my mind. But when I look at the bike, which I overall really enjoy looking at it, they just stick out like a sore, infected thumb possibly needing amputation.

Might as well remind everyone that the best deal around in 130 rings is still going on. I'm actually gonna grind the teeth offa one of these to make a bashguard. Wonder if I should strip the clear ano off of it... ;)

....ooooh, 130's. :) I might bite on a few of those.

I spent an hour messing with the FD on the chain droppers bike.

For some strange reason it has now decided that it will not go from the small ring to the big ring.

...have you tried stripping the anodizing off the chainrings ?

Why would I do such a hideous thing?

The bead blasted look sure isn't anything to write home about.

I got a curved TV. Now I want curved chainrings.

LesterOfPuppets 11-23-15 09:39 PM

I have Shimano and Sakae non-roundness. Used to have some Suntour non-round too but dunno where they got off to.

...well, it seemed like something you could do that would probably not fix the problem, thus within the guidelines for 41 advise. Probably a bad idea in retrospect. You really ought to start a thread.:)

I'll probably put some of these on the Allez over the winter.

I'm really frustrated with the SRAM FD.

I should probably start a thread.

However, it is my personal policy to not start threads.

Unless it is a weak attempt to embarrass an addictionite.

I have one of their Polyvalent cranks. It's very shiny.

I'm not dead, I'm just playing a lot. Some gigs with my pal Don.

Motown goes Nashville.

Did't get back on the road bike regularly until late May. I'm approaching 7500 miles for 2015, I'll probably get to 8000. Lost a lot of weight. Mostly back in shape.

Not here much because after 200k miles and 56k posts and god knows how many amateur bicycle races and group rides, its mostly velo face palms.

That's how my dad carries his bike. You can also fit a fairly large doll house back there.
