They most certainly will improve your average speed. https://scontent-dfw1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...78760262_o.jpg |

I don't think they're allowed. Too fast.

According to something that I read somewhere (WSJ?), today was the best day to buy electronics and that black friday was not a good day, so you may have done well both in quality and price.

I've mentioned it here before, but I have Q-rings on the Domane. I really do think I ride better with them, but... they are ugly as sin. Like really bad. I might change back just because. If only the DA rings weren't so stupid expensive. I have the compact set that came stock, but would like a 53/39 on there.

Nope. The more colours they are, the faster they are. #rainbowpower

...I forget when chainrings suddenly got expensive. It was probably when they started pimping them out with drillium and anodizing. They really are not that difficult to manufacture, and I can recall having a collection of them in a bucket at various times. Reminds me I need to find that bucket.

Parody thread idea: "What's the longest ride anyone has ever done with a puppy?"

I won't say that they are fairly priced, but if you've ever held a Shimano hollowtech chainring in your hand, you can see it's not a simple piece.

Just bought a 60" Samsung UHD smart TV from Best Buy on their pre-Black Friday sale. I went with the 240 hz motion refresh rate (did I say that right or am I mixing things up) and quad core processor but eschewed the 3D and curve. Got no use for that 3D stuff. I think it looks hokey.
It will be interesting to see whether Black Friday prices are lower. I would certainly go back for a refund of the difference if that were the case.

What is the purpose of the curved screen. Mrs. Doug28450 and I were looking at televisions at Sam's and noticed that.

Oaky, that settles it.
I'm going to get oval carbon multi-color chainrings. |

My weekend rides have taken on a somewhat more sedate off season pace, that said there are always a few guys that want to stretch a little here and there.
There was one of many such times this Sunday. Not sure who or exactly how, but as we motored down the shoulder of a local highway into a pretty good breeze, somebody hit the gas and blew the group apart. I was on the wrong side of the split and had to bridge. It was a long sustained effort, basically like a sprint lead out / 1k effort to get across... ....as I did that I thought to myself... if only I had more aero wheels/frame, electronic shifting, magical friction free bearings, a bike made of unobtainium, fewer/more graphics, some mace to spray at dogs, and 11 vs. fewer gears on the rear cog... No, I did not think of those at all. I just cherished the moment of being able to suffer through the effort and took in the satisfaction that I get to continue playing on bikes. For me the fancy bike/bike stuff are a tribute to those moments. Nothing more. That bike is something. Of course, I'm happy as a pig in **** with my sleds, but that thing is on a whole nuther level. |

...I was talking about real chainrings, not that sissy compact crank Hollowtech bull****. It's a large gear wheel, with teeth and some milling to make it lighter. It's not a big deal in its purest form, and you must know me well enough to realize by now I'm all about purity in form and function. #catholicschool #wehadnuns

Might as well remind everyone that the best deal around in 130 rings is still going on. I'm actually gonna grind the teeth offa one of these to make a bashguard. Wonder if I should strip the clear ano off of it... ;) https://www.westernbikeworks.com/pro...-chainring-set |
I spent an hour messing with the FD on the chain droppers bike.
For some strange reason it has now decided that it will not go from the small ring to the big ring. |
