More likely outcome- They'll convert us to hourly, start tracking our time to the minute, and then start writing us up when we don't meet impossible performance goals in a strict 37.5 hour work week. Then they can fire us for poor performance rather than layoffs.
It's either that, or cut into the profits of the clients for whom we administer claims and healthcare. The clients will jump ship to a different administrator the second we increase costs, so we know where that will end up.
Thanks for bringing me back to earth, Doug
Hopefully I'll be long gone from this current employment situation by then anyway and it'll be a moot point. We'll see.

Great picture of Chain Dropper, but I have to admit it made me laugh. Why? Well, when I read you guys all talking about your daughters, I am picturing little girls, not grown women. I mean having fully grown daughters, that's fine for me, I'm an old fart. But when I'm reading your posts, I'm seeing little girls even though you tell us how old they are. But CD, she is totally on her way out the door. Once you get over the shock and come to terms with it as a parent, that is nothing but a good thing. Great job, Dad.
Congrats, Doug!

Thanks.
Mrs. Doug28450 and I have been very fortunate. All three of the girls have done very well. They have been good kids. We have rarely had a problem with them and when we did they understood the problem and corrected. We are also fortunate to have lived in a good neighborhood. A neighborhood where everyone looks out for one another. The neighbors know our kids and were never afraid to raise a potential concern to us. We always accepted the reports. When the kids were questioned, they knew they had been caught and fessed up. They soon learned that by being good kids their boundaries expanded faster than some of their friends. They also learned that if the boundaries were pushed they shrunk disproportionally and quickly. Our goal was not to raise the kids for performance. We wanted to raise them to think and understand and be good stewards. We wanted them to understand that actions have consequences. We also want them to understand that there are many situations they will find themselves in throughout life. We work them to try to think ahead of what some of these situations may be and to think ahead of decisions they make make when those situation arise.
We haven't always done the right thing or the best thing, but, we've always been there for them.

Seriously, packed up the mobile transport carrier for our tandem assault machine and headed for Georgia for a tandem rally, then northerly to the Smokey Mountains to climb a few and try out are disc brakes n the downhills. Then, finish up in Georgetown, Kentucky with three days of riding the beautiful rollers in horse country.
Ah, 15 days of tandem strolling wth my lady. Retirement is good.

I am formally bequeathing my political opinions to the next generation. It just gives me too much angst to worry about.

Good stuff, @Doug28450.
I just did a spinal tap on a Mexican hairless. Normally I just do the tap in the area that my nurses and have shaved and done the surgical prep. I waltz in to tap this dog and I'm like, "um, where?" Because the dog has no hair anywhere except on the very top of her head.
Meningitis.
Moral of the story: don't feed your dog a raw food diet.
<Its actually a little more complicated than that. But still: no raw food, please.>

Thanks for the vote of confidence. We will see where my opportunities take me, I'm not really pushing on the planning side of late because my friends in the field are so bogged down in local politics and money spats that they can hardly get anything done. That's the nature of the beast unless you land a really cool job as a private sustainability consultant or something like that which is tangentially related.
Nice work on the dad game, you obviously raised them the right way. Even if they need a good flogging every now and then to keep the bike motivation high.

I saw my first Tesla today in the flesh. However, it was on a flatbed truck with writing on the side that said "Tesla Field Service" and was obviously the equivalent of a tow truck since the Tesla was filthy and obviously used.

I know raw food diet =/= vegan diet, but this still reminded me of a story about a cat that was forced onto a vegan diet by some really ill-advised owners-

I don't look to 'cut' things from my diet now either, I'm just throwing a ton of veggies into the lunch basket with a potato and goin' for it.

Boss has one, don't like them. That said, nearly all of the money I DO have invested is crammed into them. I believe in the 5 year Tesla investment strategy.

I'm shamefully almost eating like a vegan now, but it's more or less that I'm eating until I'm totally full with base of veggies equaling probably 300-400 calories, instead of eating until I'm entirely full with them ham sammiches and or steak etc which would probably equal out to 2x or 2.5x.
I don't look to 'cut' things from my diet now either, I'm just throwing a ton of veggies into the lunch basket with a potato and goin' for it.
