Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Too bad you can't get that week back. That case, AFAIK, has been basically set aside, by nearly all 50 states. There must be blight or actual public use, in most states, for the guv to make you sell your home.

Back to cycling related content:

One of my friends had to bail early from today's ride. He is running Di2 and his RD was in between gears and he could not fix it in spite of trying himself and help from a couple other riders who are familiar with the system.

It turned out the problem is, somehow, his RD hanger was bent. He took it to the shop and they fixed it. Said Cervelos have "soft" hangers. I wanted to make a viagra joke but chose to take the high road.

Edit: forget the high road. Just made Cervelo Viagra suggestion on strava.

Its the same stuff every year. Sometimes I feel like a goldfish swimming in circles in my fishbowl- haven't I seen this exact thing an endless succession of times?!

On a related note, one of them comes to find me. She's on internal medicine and they have a cat who had six seizures last week and was put on a seizure medication elsewhere and now has asthma. Do I think it could be the seizure med? BTW, the cat had bacterial encephalitis 8 years ago, extension of infection from the inner ear to the brain and he needed surgery on both ears to clear it up. OMG, is his name Blackberry? Yes, she says. Wow, wasn't even my case, I just consulted on it for the surgeon. Where the heck did I dredge that memory up from?!

(Ans is yes, BTW, on the seizure medication. You can't give that one to cats. It causes asthma in some of them.)

And the funny thing too is that the interns are still in the stage where they say stuff that makes zero sense and don't even realize it. This one said to me: The cat had six seizures back to back but actually no one saw them, so they just assume it was a cluster of seizures. I point out that makes no sense, right. If they specifically say the cat had six seizures, it wasn't one event comprised of six seizures because how would they have known it was six? Time to revisit the history and find out what really happened...
I am refraining from posting a link to the Pink Floyd song "Wish You Were Here" on the pretext that you mentioned goldfish swimming in a fishbowl. Also making no jokes about cats having seizures in the woods.

I think arguing bibs vs shorts is like arguing chocolate vs vanilla ice cream. I wonder if I should post it?? Of course, with a poll.

The correct answer is "Phish Food". Glad I could clear that up.

Windows were finished just in time to go on a walk/early dinner. Now the question is: quick 20-mile mile while there's still light or beer and an ice cream cone?

BTW @WhyFi, go for the ride. You can always eat/drink later, when it's dark out.

Actually you can ride while it's dark out too.

As an FYI.

After all was said and done, I did have to look for one cat for about 10 minutes. Same cat that found her way in to a wall cavity behind a mini-fridge in a hotel. Also the only cat of ours that I would spend 10 minutes trying to find.

Don't have full complement of lights right now. Would need to pillage my kid's train sets for enough batteries.

I was thinking that was maybe not the brightest dog you have, if you have to lock her up to keep her from jumping out of a second story window.

But then I'm the one who had a dog who jumped off the roof of UGAs vet school. She was more exuberant than intelligent.

Also was unscathed!
