Hey all, I'm alive and somewhat well. I've had a rough couple of years due to a nasty motorcycle wreck. I've had four operations since, first an ankle scope, then two more knee scopes, followed by another ankle / knee procedure called the OATS procedure. For the last one they removed bone and cartilage from my knee and put it in my ankle. I finally got off of the crutches about five days ago after a little more than seven weeks. I've still got the air cast / boot for another five weeks. It's sucked and I have gained tons of weight.
My end goal is to be able to get back on a bicycle but at this point I'm really not sure if it is going to happen. To pass the time I have been competing in car audio (sound quality, not bass) and managed to win a few world championships last year. I'm about to tear everything out of my vehicle and start over on that. It's a fun hobby and it gets me off of the couch. I've met a lot of really good people. Here is a link to the video of my crash. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcOLkVjjrBM Methinks that sounded an awfully lot like a Gixxer. Am I right? |

I do know we have a new mod around here. I think I've already racked up a demerit or two for making fun of his beet pills.
Make that, powder. Yes, powder! :D Insult my dog, then we'll have words... |

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well. I'm going to try that route again this weekend if I can find time between changing the carb on my lawnmower and planting some trees at the house.

Ouch! Sorry to hear about this. It looks like a classic high side crash, is that right? There's a bit of repaired pavement that flashes into view just before the bike gets squirrely, maybe the rear tire lost traction on that and away she went?
Family friends have raced AMA for years and broken just about every bone you can break on motorcycles. It comes with the territory, unfortunately. |

So a few pages ago there were some mention of, and even graphics of, "Preds."
I read it as "Freds," I imagine we see what we want to see. |

Downer. I have a friend that texts me the weather report for wherever I am while I'm traveling. You're not one of those people, are you?

Yep, high side unfortunately. There is a small dip there that I have hit a thousand times. Unfortunately this one time it didn't work out just right. Rear tire lost traction then got it back. Had it continued sliding it would have been a simple low side and I would have walked away no problem.

Should have gotten a battery-powered Ryobi like I did. Except don't get one of the ones that fails right out of the box.

The friend of mine that got married in Thailand also has a dog named Indy, after the race of course. He's a hyper-energetic Brittany. Very cute.

So that probably hurt a little, then? ;) Glad that you're gettin' down the road to recovery - let's hope you can get back on the bicycles. If not, I'll help you dispose of any bike and/or car audio cast-offs. :D

Listening to the sound quality cars are something, and though I said earlier that sound quality will never approach home stuff, it's still amazing what can be done. Those bass guys are weird. |

I thought it was American Medical Association? We use their guidelines to review "ratings" for body parts all the time.
