Oh. I'm not up on the protocols around here, obviously.

Reported.

I do know we have a new mod around here. I think I've already racked up a demerit or two for making fun of his beet pills.

Make that, powder. Yes, powder!

:D

I'll be at 7,000 posts before the hour is up. #goals

The reports of my banning are greatly exaggerated.

Oh, you're close--you're gonna make it. I offer my congratulations in advance.

Only took you six years - what is this, a charity ride?

Dan333SP 04-21-17 07:35 AM

I wonder who of the regular posters in this thread has the highest PPD rate? Jones is looking strong.

Hey all, I'm alive and somewhat well. I've had a rough couple of years due to a nasty motorcycle wreck. I've had four operations since, first an ankle scope, then two more knee scopes, followed by another ankle / knee procedure called the OATS procedure. For the last one they removed bone and cartilage from my knee and put it in my ankle. I finally got off of the crutches about five days ago after a little more than seven weeks. I've still got the air cast / boot for another five weeks. It's sucked and I have gained tons of weight.

My end goal is to be able to get back on a bicycle but at this point I'm really not sure if it is going to happen.

To pass the time I have been competing in car audio (sound quality, not bass) and managed to win a few world championships last year. I'm about to tear everything out of my vehicle and start over on that. It's a fun hobby and it gets me off of the couch. I've met a lot of really good people.

Here is a link to the video of my crash.

Oof. Hope your recovery gets you back on a bike (a real one, with pedals ;) ).

So I've been freaking busy...

But bicycles are awesome. I took Friday off last week and managed to get a ride in. I've figured out a great, just under 30 miles out and back route that is both fun and kicks my face in. The middle section is a nice gravel path that my 32mm slicks do fine on. At the end of the gravel path is a paved road with a pretty good little climb (for north Texas, anyway). It will be a nice way to gauge my improvement as I build my fitness back up.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well. I'm going to try that route again this weekend if I can find time between changing the carb on my lawnmower and planting some trees at the house.

Ouch! Sorry to hear about this. It looks like a classic high side crash, is that right? There's a bit of repaired pavement that flashes into view just before the bike gets squirrely, maybe the rear tire lost traction on that and away she went?

Family friends have raced AMA for years and broken just about every bone you can break on motorcycles. It comes with the territory, unfortunately.
