Not one to shirk away from my own recommendations, I had banh mi for lunch. They were out of my usual grilled beef so I went with the pork instead. Phenomenal. The next time I go there, I'll have a "which child do I save from the house fire?" kind of dilemma.

I've made my decision. I'm going with some 29er wheels with the almost 29er plus tires that will pretty much mostly almost fit on my bike (if I bottom out it'll rub the aluminum suspension linkage a little bit).

Weights:
Wheels: -738g
Tires: -814g
Total: 1552g = 3.42# (!)

BB height: +0.375" (a good thing... but that's still a lot)

Speaking of which, I saw Manchester by the Sea recently. Boy, that was a depressing movie.

SPOILERS! I had it in my queue thinking it was a romcom - way to ruin the surprise!

Ah crap, I thought you knew it was about the daily struggles of a family of Vietnamese immigrants trying to get a bank to invest in a bahn mi takeout spot in Massachusetts. It's very moving. Casey Affleck plays the racist that ends up firebombing their new restaurant on its first day in operation.

I didn't find it depressing at all. I found it poorly edited and poorly directed at points. Thought it had a positive ending of sorts--once that ending finally came. "Monster" and "Million Dollar Baby" were depressing.

I am not crazy about the look. Some of my clubmates have a Seven with Ti lugs and crabon tubes, the look is good but the price is prohibitive IMO. Maybe I can ask for one for my 60th birthday, by then the crabon will be graphene.

I'm convinced that design uses the worst features of both materials. IMO the other way around would be far superior. Carbon lugs and Ti tubes for the win.

Yep. Very much like real life.

Wow, United Airlines have had a bad month. They can't even keep a giant rabbit alive.

Simon the giant rabbit, destined to be world's biggest, dies on United Airlines flight | Fox News

They did transport me in relative comfort across the Pacific, but that's beside the point.

Success! I did track down the Stan's tape locally and the extra layer did the trick - I was able to get the previously-unseatable wheel/tire combo seated on the first try. Now to get some sealant in these guys and see if I can take 'em for a spin to this afternoon to get 'em airtight.

At least this didn't happen last Sunday.

Old Yeller is depressing.

It was nice of Stan to let you use it. I have always liked that guy.

Lion was a tear-jerker as well, but at least the ending wasn't depressing.

I liked 'Lion'.

Sad and depressing are not the same thing. Old Yeller is sad

It made me want to go to India. As everything that's filmed there does. It also made my wife want to adopt an orphan. Not a bad idea, just one we're not 100% ready for.

I tried the sofritas because of this thread and recall them kinda sucking. But I also thought the chorizo sucked because it was way too salty.

Actually, this is MickeyD's we're talking about. It's gotta be Big, Bigger and Biggest Macs.
