A 13-win season isn't enough to say that the draft was a success.

Are you arguing that the cowboys draft last year was not a success of historic proportions? Franchise QB in the 4th round. What looks to be a star CB in the making in Brown, and the monster that is Zeke?

13 wins alone may not be enough, but going from 4 wins the previous season, and a similar prospect for last season to 13 wins is as big a deal as any draft can make.

You can doubt me all you want but that's real world. I would say typically I get 34MPG but at last fillup I got 37MPG, must have been those highway miles on the NJ Turnpike when I went up to be with my sister last week.

I think he's just saying that you need to give it time before you say their draft was a "success of epic proportions". If you used the same sample size for the '98 Colts, you'd say they wasted their #1 pick because Peyton only got them 3 wins. We all know how that turned out.

Success *may* take time to be apparent. But if it's apparent immediately, which is so rare as to make things of epic proportions, that doesn't make it any less of a success.

The Cowboys had a fantastic draft. That is irrespective of the 13 wins.

I hate the Cowboys. Like Dan, I also hate all the draft hype. When it starts up, I always think the draft is near. Then you find out it's two or three months away. That's dumb. Gives people something to talk about.

Dude. Perspective. One season isn't enough for perspective, not unless your draftees were key contributors to hoisting the Lombardy. A successful draft produces multiple key contributors to either ongoing success or to a championship. Maybe the 'Boys draft will be monumental, but right now the only results that you've got to show for it are 13 wins and a playoff loss. You're talking as if their Canton busts have already been cast - give it time.

If zeke goes on a killing rampage and takes out the entire team, then that's not the draft's fault. We still had a successful draft that has already paid off.

Continuing the analogy, we've already made a big profit off of the money we put in this bank account. If we withdraw everything now, it doesn't change the fact that we already made a profit.
