Unless you're the cowboys and have a genius at the helm (of the draft/scouting program). We were going to have a complete crap year last year and our draft was so good we got 13 wins out of it.

A 13-win season isn't enough to say that the draft was a success.
13 wins alone may not be enough, but going from 4 wins the previous season, and a similar prospect for last season to 13 wins is as big a deal as any draft can make. |

If, you like the Addiction thread as it is, then don't bring outside drama from other threads into Addiction, plain and simple. It's like a Vampire at your door. If you don't invite him in, he can't cause trouble. But if you give him an invitation, then that trouble is all your responsibility. Billy can't do anything special to bail you out. |

Don't drag outside static into this thread please, guys. This isn't the first time you're hearing this.
Now with the mod/super mod Addiction infiltration, I'll have to up my game. I did hope Robert would miss the post, but as expected, he didn't and marched in there to right the wrong. |

Lol, I actually like the "vampire at the door" analogy for some of the garbage threads we see from time to time.
FWIW, I did my best to bring some logic and calmness to that thing you guys were talking about in another forum. I know, doesn't seem my style. Just trying it on for size. |

Are you arguing that the cowboys draft last year was not a success of historic proportions? Franchise QB in the 4th round. What looks to be a star CB in the making in Brown, and the monster that is Zeke?

Lol of course he is. As well he should be. (Loyalton, BTW, is actually in California, its the NoCal State TT course, something which racing bad-asses in the Northern Sierras would typically be aware of.) |

I think he's just saying that you need to give it time before you say their draft was a "success of epic proportions". If you used the same sample size for the '98 Colts, you'd say they wasted their #1 pick because Peyton only got them 3 wins. We all know how that turned out.
If you put money into an account and it starts paying 20% interest the first year, are you going to call that a failure? |
The Cowboys had a fantastic draft. That is irrespective of the 13 wins.
I hate the Cowboys. Like Dan, I also hate all the draft hype. When it starts up, I always think the draft is near. Then you find out it's two or three months away. That's dumb. Gives people something to talk about. |

Success *may* take time to be apparent. But if it's apparent immediately, which is so rare as to make things of epic proportions, that doesn't make it any less of a success.

I'm not a big fan of Gordon Ramsey but I do follow him on Twitter where people send him pics of their latest creation and then he make some sort of sarcastic remark about it.
The other day, a guy submitted a meat dish and Gordon said that the beef looked, as dry as Ghandi's flip flops." |

That's putting the cart before the horse, though. What if Zeke destroys his knee and Dak never throws more TDs than picks for the rest of his career?
Unless you're D. Rose. |

They had a really good year due to a really good draft. You gotta give them that much. When's the last time you saw two rookies turn a team totally around? |

I know where Loyalton is--I don't live that far away from there. How do you know I have not raced that TT? ;) I saw what I did, though. Working in the east bay (Berekely) and literally meant "Cal." |

Continuing the analogy, we've already made a big profit off of the money we put in this bank account. If we withdraw everything now, it doesn't change the fact that we already made a profit. |
