Eh... that never appealed to me. The bikes aren't as cool to me, nor the outfits, and the amount of damage I saw in the pool shut down any interest in MTB I might have ever had.
If I did have the urge to get back on the bike, it'd be for gravel. On a fat bike. Nice and slow. But no, running is good for now. |

In "horrible news with a silver lining", a 17 year old baby-faced British racing driver named Billy Monger had a huge crash a little over a week ago in a Formula 4 race that sadly resulted in bilateral leg amputation similar to what happened to Alex Zanardi.
The good news is that he's awoken from his induced coma in apparently bright spirits, and the motorsports community has come together and raised nearly 750k UK pounds to held fund his medical care and recovery. So I guess I'm the fred equivalent of a homeowner. I bought those trees as a part of the city's reimbursement program, but didn't read through the rules completely... Looks like the small tree I planted has to be replanted. I landed on a utility easement. not that there was anything there, but it's on my survey and they specifically state not to do that shizzle. I'm such a noob.
Looks like I have one more tree to plant and one to replant. Oh and I was technically supposed to call those guy that come out and flag underground utility lines. Following the rules bites. |

Sorry, Seeds, talking about race cars again. Forgive me.
If anyone wants to feel all the feelings and isn't already familiar with the story, you should go read about Alex Zanardi and his recovery after the 2001 crash that took his legs. Not every day you find someone who refers to losing their legs as "the greatest opportunity" of their lives. He came back to racing, won a few events at a high level using adaptive controls, and is now a multi-gold medal winning Olympic hand cyclist. He even won his first gold on a British race track where he'd raced previously in cars while still able-bodied. https://usatodaysports.files.wordpre...g?w=1000&h=678 |
Looking like I've funded the most deals this month out of anyone in our 12 person project management team. Ayyyoooo, now pay the boy!

@Doug28450, he's in Illinois. What's up with Midwest Dougs and random number generators? |
51.1 miles today and got a sunburn. My wife says that the line on my forehead makes it look like I'm wearing a hat.

lotza nice back roads around here. 129.57 miles on Sunday. I find the best riding is Sunday afternoon or Sunday night. No one is in a hurry, most are staying home too.
OK no more bike talk. |

What WhyFi said, but spokes are pretty cheap
https://www.danscomp.com/products/43...ess_Spoke.html And you just need a spoke wrench. And a couple of zip-ties around your fork/frame to use as a truing stand. |
