you know, Whole Foods doesn't sell any kind of baloney. none.

when i asked, they looked at me with derision. sort of like, how i look at people that wear polka dot cycling jerseys.

I would also like to have the F10 for a month.

The screw isn't backing out, as far as I can tell. I think the plastic sole between the blind nuts and the cleat is maybe deformed now, and it's slipping "downhill". The cleats have sharp serrations, and I think those have dug a little hole, and it slips into the hole. But I don't think the screw is loose at all. It's an MTB, so mud is like natural locktite.

I remember my coasting memorial ride. I wonder what happened to his bikes.

After he died, I did write in my will who got my bikes and wheels. It avoids my wife having to decide what to do with all of it.

Exactly. My tools are another issue. My nephew will be helping Mrs. LAJ with that part of the equation.

What's his reasoning?

I go to the R&A site and drool over those too, btw. I would hate to break one, so that makes it easier.

Yall, watch this video:

I's a pro reviewing some bike, but he's riding my trails!!

He goes through the pit at 4:25. I remeber @topslop1 commenting "oh jesus!" when he saw that dropoff. There's not a lot of good videos out there of that trail system.

I was vindicated by Taylor Phinney. As I was picking up the Timemachine from Pro Peloton, my checkout was interrupted by Taylor Phinney calling because he snapped a bolt on his seatpost while out. They told him to come right in.

I of course waited. As soon as he walked in, he looked at my bike and said "That's my favorite bike." The timing was just awesome.

I didn't have the balls to ask him why he was riding a Teammachine. That would be asking one question too many.

Successful cardiology exam this AM. Good blood chemistry numbers. Same old funky heart action from the heart attack. Hard to believe August 9 will be 20 years. Doc got bored at about 90% of max heart rate on the stress test. And had to have the perfunctory Doppler ultrasound exam of my carotids due to the noises he always hears. Still no blockages showing up in the branches that feed the brain. I'm glad he's thorough though.

Front end is apparently a bit noodley. You and I would be disappointed, I think. Most definitely not a race bike.

Chris' criticism of the Timemachine was the steering was way too neutral. It's true to some extent. It's not a crit bike. It's also very stiff, which I love.

Wasn't planning on spending all day at the mechanic's shop, but a brake caliper seized up on the way over to have them take care of a broken e-brake cable.

rjones28 04-27-17 11:42 AM

At least, it's nice weather and there's a good diner within walking distance.

On the Jeep?

rjones28 04-27-17 11:43 AM

Downside: laptop battery running low and I didn't bring the power cord. :o

Yup. New u-joints and a front caliper. I had planned to do the u-joints another day and leave it. Oh well.

I can understand the neutral steering, just because of what your bike is. Good to know on the Time, as well. Perhaps when I win the lottery then. Since I don't play, I guess that answers that.

rjones28 04-27-17 11:49 AM

Upside: mobile office, Wi-Fi, and free coffee. Got all of my work done.

Hmm... maybe find a metal shim/spacer to put under each cleat? That way the little ridges aren't on a chewed up plastic surface. You'd maybe have to move your saddle up fractionally to compensate.
