I generally am too. As I said earlier, I've never been to a hotel anywhere in the world where there is no drinkable coffee to be found in any of the establishnents on site. So I was taken by surprise.
And yes, I do enjoy chewing on the dregs if it comes to that. I'm convinced that whatever they are using here is not really coffee. A cup of Nescafe is more satisfying. |

Call Garmin. Whenever I have an issue they just send me a replacement unit for free if they can't solve it over the phone. Its always something refurbished but it will look brand new.
The whole Stages power meter saga began for me with an out-of-warranty Edge 510 and they still replaced it. Garmin makes flaky products and lots of their help line people are clueless. But they are really good about replacing units for you at the drop of a hat. I will give them that. I went through 4-5 Edge 510s and eventually they upgraded me to an Edge 1000 for a nominal fee and they have since replaced the Edge 1000 because the on/off button broke. All for the original price of an Edge 510, plus something like $150 to upgrade to the Edge 1000. And ironically, there was never anything wrong with any of the 510s, it was the Stages PMs all along. In reality, I have had all those units, but the only true Garmin problem was the button on the Edge 1000. |
But hey. I'm on the beach in Cancun. The weather is beautiful. The food is good. I'm having a great time with my wife. And I'm a coffee addict. I have no one to blame but myself. Rant over.

Maybe I should do that. My dman 910XT told me that Friday morning's run started around campus and meandered across random territory and roads and houses until I got nearly home. The only problem is I started at home and went north and then back. It completely whiffed, even after claiming to find satellites and then giving it a few more minutes while it seemed to have me moving while holding still.

On the ride this morning, approaching a bridge to cross back over from St Paul to Minneapolis, I overtook a magnificently bearded fellow on a huge cargo trike (bike). His appearance and trike was ringing a bell and then figured it out and soft-pedaled to the next light to let him catch up.
"Are you Erik?" "Uhhhhhhh, yeah?" "Peacock Groove?" "Oh! Yeah!" "Sweet! Congrats on the show!" "Thanks - it's all so overwhelming, but I'll come to accept it sooner or later." At which point I was off and he wished me a good ride. Eric won the big prize at NAHBS this year with his Prince tribute bike. Well I know what it is on airplanes which have the worst coffee in the entire universe. Tennis shoes! Yep, they make it out of ground up tennis shoes. I have it on good authority.
It could be just me, because after 43 yrs of smoking my smell and taste buds are damaged and have not healed since stopping, so I like everything strong and robust tasting. Subtle flavors don't have much chance here. |
If Sadie has it in her, we're good for 24 mph for a few hours. Maybe more if I could hang with the kids for the full race. :)

So there is that.

New restaurant opening up near me. Called Naf Naf Grill. A brief search makes me think this is the Chipotle of Middle Eastern food.
Anyone have direct experience?? |

You are more perceptive than most. We've decided this will be our last trip to this area. My wife likes thectv, which we don't have at home. Sshe likes the spa. We mostly stay in the room, except to eat.
Are you offended by my outlook? Your prejudice against this country is pretty apparent, and you obviously made the change to remedy that situation. The continual harping gets old, and since you're not part of the solution anymore, the validity of your outlook is suspect. In my opinion. |

Starbucks always seems to have that burnt taste to it. I understand it, and there's no way it would ever be able to be tasted behind all the other stuff folks mix it with. I'm guilty as well, because a mocha is A-OK in my book. I do like Caribou a lot better, as far as chains go.
