So one of my clubmates is very nice and friendly, but not a smooth rider. He weaves and wobbles, which makes me feel VERY uncomfortable when he is in front of me. I try to avoid his wheel but can't always do that. Is there a tactful way to clue him in that he needs to ride more smoothly?

That's a much nicer car, relatively, than my first two. So, lucky her!

It's arguably nicer than the Saturn and our 2006 Odyssey. Combined.

You could yell at him!:p
Or just say hey, try and hold a steadier line. Suggest trying to ride the white line as practice.

We bought the car from an Audi dealer. One of my patients saw me and yelled "Hey, are you finally ditching the Saturn for a nice car?"

Obviously the Saturn is approaching legendary status in these parts.

Love lilacs. California lilacs are not perfumey though like normal lilacs. Although they are drought-resistant.

Haha when we were in Scotland we stayed two nights free on hotel points in the Trump Turnberry. We are not Trump fans so I made a point of trying to consume all the Nespresso pods in the room on day one and then asking for more. I was surprised at how tasty they were. I didn't sleep for three days though.

Well 7 watts is a lot for me, yall have to remember that I am doing this stuff at way lower absolute power than you menfolk.

Different days, way different conditions- the wind on my previous PR was reverse of what we had today and a little stronger. Personally I find that a little easier, it means two legs were downhill with a tailwind, so you had easy-hard-easy-hard legs. Get some rest in between. Vs today, with much more even legs from an effort-perspective, so no rest for the weary.

Also today was damper, which is slower. So those two things conspired to make the course slower today. I'm not sure what I would have predicted time-wise from 7 watts stronger. But I do know not pacing the splits well cost me time. I missed my clip-in at the start. And the course has three 180-degree turns and one was very bad today, although last time I had one bad turn due to a charity ride on the course, so not sure I lost much on the PR quest with the bad turn, actually. I'd guess technical mistakes probably cost me 30-40 seconds today. Rookie stuff.

But as to aero, I do have some changes from April 2016 when I set that previous PR. New TT helmet, altered skinsuit to make the fabric fit the forearms more tightly, a higher hand position, and a new position for the Garmin mount which allows my aerobar extensions to be a little narrower at the end and bring my hands in front of the Garmin, to take it out of the wind a bit.

We went o Playa del Carmen today, and I bought some real coffee. We'll see.

Oh, yesterday we did our grocery shopping at a new (as in, brand new) Whole Foods 365 up in Cedar Park.

Central Market is still much better, though a touch more expensive. It was interesting to see a completely new grocery store where things like the bulk food bin lids were all still perfectly clear and unscratched.

seedsbelize 05-07-17 05:26 AM

The coffee saga continues. I bought some good coffee, yesterday, had it ground to 'drip' consistency, and put it i to the little bag from the hotel coffee. Ran it through the machine twice, in order to get it to even have any color, and still it has no flavor.
I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel where the coffee was completely undrinkable. My wife tells me they're starting to market their brand.

The strongest endurance rider I know wags his front wheel on every pedal stroke. He can just ride and ride with no training, no preparation. But he oscillates back and forth, back and forth. It is enough to drive you crazy. He is over 60 and has been doing this all his life. What can be said to him that would have any meaning? I suspect your club mate is doing the best he can, and advising him to hold his like would be useless.
