But it went well. PRed the 40K course by 50 seconds, power PR on this course by 7 watts.

From a power perspective I faded, each of the four legs was done with a decreasing power output. Split 2 was 1:10 slower than split 1, not how you want to race a TT.

But man I had that HR pegged exactly where it should be for the entire TT. Physiologically it was a very steady effort.

Technically, it could have been better but I'm happy with the power and time PRs and the overall effort.

It did not rain. Well a few sprinkles but nothing dicey.

I won, but that is not saying much, I was the only woman to show up today.

PS I displayed my normal data screen and looked at it. Just not as much as I normally would have. Focused much more on parceling out the effort by how it felt and how sustainable for the duration what I was feeling seemed to be.

The State TT is 2 weeks away. If I'm able to shave 2 min off my 40K TT time from last year, I would likely win it. So the 50 second PR today- that was good. I had a race format but no competition, you could look at that as a halfway race. Fix some of the pacing issues and I'm sitting pretty close to where I need to be...

Good job. If you beat your PR by 50s and left some one the table, you got this state TT!

Went riding with a certain Addiction buddy today, and look at this. A pic of me actually ON a bike!

Also, that ride sucked ass. 4 days of hammering in a row made my legs complete **** today. I haven't been this slow in a long time. Heart wise it was excellent... I couldn't get going fast enough to get my HR up but for one tiny section (where you're going slow anyways).

I was actually a little proud of that pic showing proper technique. That's a fast as hell drop section. That bit that looks flat is alike 15% grade. It starts at like 45% grade up at the top. At that point if you go down with no brakes, you're just looking for a spot smooth enough to kill speed before a turn. I have failed to find that spot a couple of times, and you just go skidding around on the rocks until you land in the bushes.

Crap never looks impressive in pics, unfortunately.

I ran a 5k on the track in high school, and that was a 5k, so yes. Similarly, there are 5ks and 10ks run on running tracks, and those are considered 5ks and 10ks, just like road races. And those are on 400m running tracks, not MONZA!!!!! It must have been incredibly boring running on the oval part, though.

There's actually "Formula Run" at COTA, but it's 4.5k. :crash: Also crazy expensive...

My first appointment yesterday was this terrible case. Retired lady with a 70 pound dog, acutely paralyzed in the hind legs 5 days prior. Her vet told her the dog needed emergency surgery right away, as did the second opinion vet who saw the dog and my receptionist when she called for an appointment. The lady insisted on waiting until my next available appointment and then when I look at the dog I say, "Yep, this was an emergency 5 days ago; now the prognosis is bleak and odds are your dog will never walk again, no matter what I do. You can take your chances with surgery, live with a paralyzed dog (but I can see the lady's gnarled hands, she must have rheumatoid arthritis, I don't think she can care for a 70 pound paralyzed dog) or you can put her to sleep." I hate doing low percent success rate surgeries and nudge a little toward euthanasia. But to my surprise, the lady goes for it. We all feel terrible for the dog, who is terrified and is now going to have a major surgery and we might not know the outcome for as long as six weeks. And we feel terrible for the lady who feels huge guilt over not getting the dog in sooner and we worry is maybe making a bad financial decision.

But no value judgements allowed, we do the surgery and it goes well.

Twenty two hours post op the lady comes in to visit the dog and she wags her tail. Hahaha that is so sweet because a tail wag is a voluntary movement for a dog. Which means technically she is no longer paralyzed. Her prognosis instantly goes from "probably will never walk again" to "almost certainly will walk again". Hot damn that was an ok moment today when I got the text from the doctor covering the case. We'll even probably bring it in under estimate, she might even be good enough to go home Sunday.

:)

I can only wish my job had anything that could be as satisfying as that... good job! :thumb:

That's about the best you can do - last time we went to Houston for IMTX we brought the damn Aeropress. And grinds. Perks of a driveaway race...

I'd expect 50s to take more than 7w; am I off in that? If not, you had better aero as well. Good job for the second time! :thumb:

I just had an MRI done Wednesday on my prostate. I'll find out how that went next Wednesday.

We are waiting with you. Keep us posted. Hoping for the best.

So we bought Hannah a car. A 2010 Toyota Corolla with 74K miles.

Moving on, have an ultrasound of my lower aorta later the same day.

Hope they find your brain.
