Kudos! Fingers crossed for more vacation.

My starting pay is lower than I'd like, too. But at least I'll be working in a bike shop, which should help in making sure that at least 120% of my discretionary income is spent on bike stuff I may or may not need :)

I've had good luck pushing for more vacation days at my last 3 job offers. They seem more willing to bend there than on salary.

Good to know. Do they need to be bought in such bulk? If so, we should do an Addiction group buy. ;)

It's wwhy I stopped using a wireless computer.

Ace hardware had 6 packs of 2032s for $1.50. I haven't tried them yet, but how bad could they be?

I went on a 5k trail run today. 3 weeks since the ankle injury and I'm healing well.

Accepted a job offer yesterday. Pay is starting lower than I'd like, but there will be accelerated promotion as there will be a retirement in 18 months. I did counter for more vacation days. Waiting to hear back. Owner is in the middle of a business trip though.

Not sure what my start date will be.

A co-worker ripped his Achilles tendon doing martial arts stuff. That's why I stopped doing martial arts stuff.

Bravo. Hoping it works out well.

I have not ridden in heels because I like the pedals with nubbies that work with the sole of Vans. I have worn army boots though and a wide variety of dresses. I try to dress for where I'm going rather than the ride- except for carrying a different pair of shoes- but that may have to change some down here due to weather and climate.

Oh and thanks for the kudos.

Survived my club ride. I actually got lucky. Did not sleep well last night and made an error turning left with a car back, I knew it was back but was not aware it was about to pass. Another life lesson for me.

Anything happen while I was away?

Yes, WhyFi stripped a phillips screw, now we're considering a group buy of batteries. Except for me, I've got plenty.

Maybe, just maybe we'll get a softball game played tomorrow. Its been raining so often, we've only played two games since this season started in April.

Counting blessings. I am not in on the battery buy.

Good reminder to make 'em bend on both for future reference!

Everything wired all the time. We had wireless mice and keyboards at this job, I put both in a desk drawer and brought my own wired versions in. Everyone to date has had a significant problem with their wireless mouse and some with the keyboards. Gator don't play that ****.

Hey Heathpack, care to comment on this??

My sister's German shepherd has chondrosarcoma in one of his legs. Vet says leg must come off. I would agree.

My sister found an "alternative" vet who claims he might be able to cure the dog with injections of " Chinese" medicines.

I told my sister this sounds quite fishy but I know nothing about animal medicine.

Wireless works fine for me.

I am freshening up my resume and I am down to the section called "other skills". I can put familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite there but what the heck else? I'm planning to apply at one or more dispensaries if that helps.

Rolling a tight one?

I should probably acquire that skill and put it down. I've only rolled one and it was a little sloppy but functional. I was still very proud of it though and felt more grown-up somehow like I was marking off one of those child of the 70s milestones.

The 10 year old little league kids play across the street rain or shine.

Did you buy a cheap logitech combo or did you spend a little more for something that might work?

Of course, they heal faster, like nothing happened. Us, not so much. How many weeks is that ankle bothering you now?

The former. Only issue is the occasional need to change batteries. No other problems.

seedsbelize 06-07-17 04:23 PM

With my wireless bike computer, I was changing batteries inordinately often. Perhaps I wasn't clear in my original post. I haven't had a desktop since the turn of the millenium

So my new job's training process is pretty intense. 4 weeks and the last week, which I'm in the middle of, involves 4 random audits of our performance while doing the day to day tasks of the role. They hired about 200 people recently so we have prior training classes to compare to, a good portion failed and lost the job in the last day or two of the process. Luckily I've had 3 good audits out of 4, should basically know this time tomorrow if I'm going to really have a job starting Monday. It's been very stressful, but the perks and pay are worth it. The race last night didn't go well but it was great catharsis, as were the tacos and beers after.

Kudos RPK79 on your new job as well!
