So much fresh fruit available this time of the year, it's a struggle to know what to do with it.

Oh I've got an idea, how about a cheesecake?

By the way, duck eggs work just as well as chicken eggs.

I spent a little time over in the clyde forum, for the first time in years(I am currently not a clyde). I have yet to venture into LCF. I am also not currently cf, nor do I have any plans to become so.
That is all.

Oh you haven't experienced Bike Forums until you've experienced LCF.

And I'm still trying to figure out which of the disgruntleds is driving the Mielenstein Lightweight Schwarz ed wheelset thread. Without actually having to read through it. I have an idea though.

seedsbelize 06-19-17 04:17 PM

I was just weighed this morning, at the dr.s office. 88 kilos, fully clothed and everything in my pockets. Not as light as I'd like to be, but not yet a clyde.

Damn, this is spooky. I had that same frame almost from when it was introduced in '86. I really liked it. Do you remember it well enough to compare it to a modern frame? I thought it was pretty competent at the time. But when the fork developed a crack, Trek didn't have any replacements in that cream color so they sent me a whole new frame/fork in robin's egg blue and pink. Man, that was ugly. I finally got them to repaint it for me for $100 in candy apple red. Now that was sweet. Sold it when the rear OLD became obsolete. Never did win a criterium on it...doh!

seedsbelize 06-19-17 04:44 PM

Obsolete? Poppycock!

Hey, I sure hope there was no sugar in that.

You can't see really well but they have hammocks for seating.

Then found "Orbea Campus Barcelona"

It's in the high rent district. Front of store has one of each of the current road bikes:

Middle has a cafe which did not appear to be open this evening...

Back part has TT bikes, MTBs, and accessories. No pics.

Saw another impressive church on my way home.

Going to try to get to bed early tonight for an early start to Montserrat tomorrow.

You are doing it right. Enjoy.

Personally, I hated it. It rode like a brick and the geometry was all wrong for me. Trek wanted us to buy the frame at the end of the season for $100 and I refused. The next year, they gave me a different size and I hated it, too. I also refused the offer to buy it at the end of the year.

In 1989 and 1990, the 2000s were only offered as a frame and they were stark white. Sounds like yours was the famed ecru color.

Anyway, no comparison to a modern carbon frame. The stays were fat and short and I had trouble keeping the indexing working. I threw it down a ravine one time after the shifting balked in the middle of a team training ride. The story is still legend in local bike shops. : D

Seriously, I hated that frame.

I like the sound of that. It would be like riding a semi. Might have to look into that.

I wasn't car-free for over a decade and not learn things about that sort of stuff. :)

Yeah, I had the ecru at first. The main color was okay, but it was the hardest combination to match with accessories I have ever encountered. The trim was maroon and silver. What goes with that. Well, let me tell you, nothing.

Super cool, and young Doge had a great time up that pesky hill. I hope you had fun, and the traffic wasn't too bad on the way home.

For whatever reason, I like that climb and race, though I don't do well at all on it.

You know, if people would look at the numbers they would be shocked to discover that a slice of plain cheesecake is only 257 calories. Compare that to 2 slices of buttered wheat bread which ring in at 336 calories. Shock indeed.

Even if you look at the sugar intake, sure the cheesecake has sugar. But what do you think that bread is going to turn into within a couple of hours of consumption? That's right, sugar, the debil.

So that's my alibi and I'm sticking with it.

I agree, but you also have to define "slice" My slice would be about 8" around... :)
