I even think Ultegra is one of the worst spots to be - the engineering is mostly similar to 105 but a little lighter, while DA makes meaningful(-ish) upgrades like superior bearings in the RD jockey pulleys (and pedal spindles, for those running the pedals), that have benefits beyond lighter weight. For her it has nothing to do with weight though; she likes the "ice grey" look of Ultegra instead of the black or silver 105, or the hideous two-tone of DA. So she wants Ultegra, except for cassettes where she cares not a whit.

Like I said, not a battle I'm going to go pick for the once every 4-5 years she's in the market.

That would certainly be a gear emergency.

A couple just pedaled by on a tandem.

No sir, not hardly. I was making some homemade from scratch (redundant?) tomato soup for the week. Time-consuming, involves a lot of cutting and chopping ingredients, so I didn't get to my computer till then.

I don't even know how to upload from a phone to a sharing site. How do you do that? I have to email the pics to my computer first.

Ya plug it into you computer via a USB cable and if they don't download automatically there's maybe one more step. Bingo, couldn't be simpler.

Oh wait . . . you might be one of those windows people. My condolences.

There is an app for that. Still a pain so I am hoping for an easier solution.

If not, I will have to keep all the cool pics from my Catalonia vacation to myself.

Check with Heathy, I believe she has a Photobucket app on her phone that she downloads to. She posts from vacation all the time.

Biked in three straight days of over 94 degrees up here in the North and I am not happy. Suppose to be some gain for losing ~ 4 months of biking due to snow, cold etc...

It's a trade-off. I don't know how y'all bike in the winter up there in the frozen tundra. :D

It's not how I transfer to the computer that is the problem, but just having to go through the computer at all. For example I can't browse my phone photo files to attach a photo here...can I?

I have not done such so I could only speculate. You could use the Photobucket app to share and post pics, but again, I have not done it. Give it a try, how bad can it possibly hurt.

Think I'm going to sign myself up for a sprint triathlon for my birthday in July.

500 m in the water (cake), 14 miles on the bike (also cake), 3.1 miles running (not bad, running sucks).

Is there a wear all do all spandexy thing I need other than a cap and goggles? Like, what's the approach for just an on the whim sign-up for one.

datlas 06-13-17 03:34 PM

It's 96F.

Hot.

I bit the bullet and used the A/C in the Saturn.

Is it better than that from a can?

Warning, 50 Plus content:

Well I have completed day 2 of radiation therapy for my prostate. Piece of cake. 35 mins and you're out of there. Two sessions down, 43 to go. :)

The hardest part is regulating your water intake to insure you have a full bladder* when you get on the table. That juggling act for 45 days is going to be ... special.

*A full bladder pushes the prostate aside to where they can get a better shot at it.

It's called a tri suit - I love one-pieces personally to avoid the pieces riding up or down, and I don't exactly stop for the bathroom on a sprint (or Olympic, or even one of the two halves I did). They're cut to not force you as far over and forward as bike shorts nudge you, so it's more natural for the run.

A good one will run you possibly more than the registration cost, so you probably aren't really interested. A lot of people just do sprints in bike shorts (tightest possible since you don't have a swimskin), or just a swimsuit. You'll see a bunch of women doing the whole thing in a one-piece swimsuit, and quite possibly a few guys in speedos.

Without a doubt. Plus no preservatives, excessive salt, or 'the devil' sugar. :)

IOW more bang for the buck.

Do not swim in a bike jersey. I cannot stress this enough. If you must put it on, put it on after the swim.
