Most of the carbon, 105/hydro set-ups that I've seen are $2400+ at retail and Ultegra builds are a little more. What are you seeing that you might get out the door at $2k? Other than the better looking hoods, most Ultegra builds don't strike me as a terribly worthwhile upgrade for the money. Not enough bang for my buck.

Did they check the serial numbers for the recall on the levers?

So there's this well on the trail, right in the middle of this tricky sandy section.

I rode by it for a solid 10 months until someone mentioned it on FB and where to look for it.

It's right in the damn middle of the trail, not even 8" off to the side. I can't believe I hadn't noticed it.

Apparently this well, and the remains of a house up the hill could have been one of Bonnie and Clyde's hideouts. It predates the lake and it's in the middle of nowhere with no roads dating to that time. There's some contention about that, but I'll believe it for now, because doing so is more fun.

I mentioned the recall, Mike told someone there to grab it and bleed them. I don't think they ran the numbers.

For sure, 105 seems to be the staple without much value added for the uppers.

Think I need to take care of a legitimate car carrier first anyhow. My $30 trunk strap carrier worries me. :D

At least now maybe sports talk can go back to important things, like football OTAs.

Then there's AG, who refuses to run 105 except for cassettes.

I don't push it, since she's used a total of two purses in the time I've known her. One was from Lululemon ($60) and the other was cheaper from some store in Mont-Tremblant. And she's never bought a piece of jewelry to my knowledge, other than a plain wedding band. If she wants bike jewelry, could be a lot worse.

You mean something like an addiction to ... Meilensteins?

Yeah no, she likes aluminum brake tracks. And would rather get a P5X and keep her HEDs. :)

Smart woman. I am thinking she may be a keeper.

datlas 06-13-17 11:39 AM

Hey, dumb question. I am hoping to post some pics from my trip, last time I had to upload them from the iPhone to photobucket and then link them, which works, but seems to involve a few intermediate steps.

Is there an easier way? I will have only my iPhone with me.

I have no idea how any of you south of Mason-Dixon line bike on a regular basis. So kudos to you in Ca, Tx, Fl.

Biked in three straight days of over 94 degrees up here in the North and I am not happy. Suppose to be some gain for losing ~ 4 months of biking due to snow, cold etc...

I ran almost 13 miles this morning and my shoes were squishy before mile 6. And that was shortly after sunrise; probably 74* at the start and 84* when I finished.

I'll agree, when testing 105 versus ultegra was nearly identical. However on an emotional level I am really glad I have the ultegra and I like the feel of the carbon levers.

What I would never admit was it was the better and faster paint scheme with red that put me over. That along with super end of year closeout and wife approval - she said go with the second one .

Not just you, we humans aren't the most observant at times.

The story of B&C hideouts, reminds me of backpacking out west, were it seems I've numerously ran into "Butch Cassidy used this trail or hide-out here." If true the guy got around.

I don't even know how to upload from a phone to a sharing site. How do you do that? I have to email the pics to my computer first.

There is an app for that. Still a pain so I am hoping for an easier solution.

If not, I will have to keep all the cool pics from my Catalonia vacation to myself.

That's beyond a fair trade off. I suppose if I'm fighting for a couple hundred grams here and there, but I'm not.

Finance girl quit on Monday and invited me Tuesday (today) to "Upscale spa resort offering slick, Scandivanian-style hotel rooms, plus Asian saunas & a gym." which she has a "24 hr coupon/room for". Must have a lot to talk about with the new job search.

Can you strava that action??
