Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Dogs are affectionate.

Belly fat...not that I have any. Other people's belly fat. How's that for an answer?

<shudder> I certainly hope not. But there is the possibility of continuing part of the conversation on small (and sometimes not so small) parasites, which can be quite fascinating. I had some pretty interesting photos of roundworms today in one of my lectures. Should I share?

I have yet to experience any other kind. It's something along the lines of, "Is this over with yet?"

I dislike my 2 cats for all the reasons you mention, BUT they do have a few redeeming qualities. They come when you call them, they're bizarrely affectionate, and they don't get disinterested the way many cats do. They'll jump into your lap the second you say one of their names, and purr happily without clawing or biting for as long as you can stand it.

At one point last night I had my 9 month old nephew sleeping on my stomach, my pup sleeping with her head on my leg, and the girl cat nuzzling my arm for attention on the other side. Cuteness overload.

Then one of the cats puked on top of our kitchen cabinet and the honeymoon was over.

Took this in Sorbas, where they rode through today:

Our cat is pretty awesome. Perfectly happy with dry food, no fleas, doesn't scratch furniture, doesn't pee other than in the box, etc.

I don't do fast ascents. mainly will my lungs hold out, will my legs hold out, will I get to the top without having to stop. There is also the that person who passed me has a nice bike and that person who passed me has a crappy bike.

Got the CX tires. Rear one fits (barely) on the Lancemobile. Front one rubs with the caliper.

Tried on the GF's bike. Front one fits. Rear one doesn't.

Guess I could try the touring bike but I am not sure how I feel about trying to race on that tank.

Which tyres?

You could get some Kenda Kwick, which are some pretty skinny 30mm tyres. Not so good in the wet grass, but good in dry stuff
