Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

We have a common FB friend, so I stalked - not much activity (that stuff may be hidden to non-friends, though), but did recently change his cover photo to a middlefinger/TdF pic (7/5 - so Stage 4/Sagan), so still alive, at least.

That will learn ya not to use mounting tape. Perfect job every time.

I used tape.

I'll definitely keep using tape unless I roll a tire or something. That is way, way easier than gluing.

Good to hear. I know he followed me on Strava, so I was able to see/stalk him there and there is no cycling activity...and no BF logins since March...glad he is alive.

Shortly following the inauguration, he's got a couple of posts that indicate he may be busy with political activism.

Hey @Trsnrtr, remember those wheels you gave me? I am relacing them to some of these rims:

I think they'll look great on the steel bike.

Whoops!

Seriously, the only one a I know is the Tufo. The backing tape allows you to completely straighten the tire before you pull it out and fix the tire's position. But maybe you did that.

Oh remember my sister's dog who has a tumor in his leg and she took him for some Chinese/alternative medical treatments?

Poor guy got another Xray yesterday and the tumor is way worse, leg coming off next week. Apparently dogs adapt pretty well to life on 3 legs and they say the prognosis is good.

Maybe in a couple days you guys will get the pocket of cold air over us - it's been ~90° and fairly humid for the last handful of days, but today is going to top out at 70°

Had to do some helmet shopping today - some of the adjustment/suspension thingies on my Specialized have cracked and it's not staying in place too well. I was really hoping that a POC, Smith, Giro or something cool would fit my melon nicely, but none of them were quite right. Ended up with another Specialized.
