We're having a Lipton Tea kind of a day. Brisk.
No fans on yet. |
Oh, and I had a redtail fly in front of me, just overhead, as I passed over a freeway. Must have been perched on one of the light posts.
|
Oh, and I stopped off at a "bike shop" that sells some new stuff but also a lot of stuff that was ridden by pros. Guy was trying to sell me Phil Gaimon's cookie-themed Diamondback Podium.

I always use sealant in tubeless. Lately it's been Orange Seal.

So I'm eating chipotle outside. I go inside to get a cover for the rest of it. I come back out, birds are eating out of my bowl.
Will I die if I eat the rest of this chipotle bowl? Edit: Bird in question is a Great-tailed grackle |

I am too unfamiliar of this notion of not finishing a burrito bowl to ponder your question.

Had to stop less than two miles in to the ride to check out what I thought to be a leaf stuck in the stays. Instead, I saw sealant sprayed all over the stays and seat tube. Big. Effin'. Staple. Got out the multi-tool to pry it out (both points penetrated), spun the wheel, rode another 300 yards or so to give it more time to seal and then topped it off with a few pumps from the Lezyne, just for good measure. #andtheysaytubelessisn'tworthit

It feels good, doesn't it? Being a free, autonomous rider--not tethered to several water tanks.
Oh, I also saw someone riding a fatbike and wearing a balaclava. I think that they're jumping the gun just a wee bit. |

So what lesson have we learned? Come to the fat side - we have cookies.

Hanging out at the Apple Store in the monstrous King of Prussia mall. Hannah's MacBook screen died awhile ago and we recently discovered we HAD purchased the extended warranty. Waiting to see what the so-called "genius" tells me.

But consider this: if you rode narrower tires, you would have probably missed that staple. Jus' sayin'.

Settled in the hotel in Sydney. Light day yesterday after arriving. Just walking around the neighborhood, scouting restaurants and eating a bit. Had as good a burger as you can get in the USA. Two peculiarities regarding the finishing of the burger. No cheese which they promptly corrected for me. I will let you guess the second one with this hint. Our dearly departed friend would have approved. Now you can look below.
Yep, beetroot on the burger. I love the stuff, but couldn't see it on a burger. They corrected that for me too. Oh, and no Diet Coke to be found at that place. Had to drink water. Blech! Burger was cooked a perfect medium which really surprised me. Nice crust from the flattop griddle. Good tasting beef. Nice aioli dressing and a superb roll. Now if I could only remember the name of the place, I would recommend it to you. Dinner was at a similar neighborhood joint called Allegro. Family place with simple Italian, pizza, pasta. Wonderful mixed green salad. Freshest field greens I have ever had. And world class thin crust pizza with just the perfect amount of char on the crust. Lovely bottle of Roero Arneis to go with it. So far this town is a perfect 10. Can't wait to see the sights today. |

Nope. These were 25s and the staple was centered on the tire (though turned slightly diagonal).
