Good consolation prize.

Can't you pick up Houston AM radio? You could listen to those games. Don't the radio waves carry over the gulf?

Good point. Back in the early 80s I listened to the Reds while doing yard work. I'll give it a whirl. But it is sometimes difficult to get a good signal. Not that I've tried it in the last 20 or so years. I picked up WGN once, while traveling, long before we moved here.

Tropical storm Nate was a complete non-event, on this side of the peninsula anyway. How's it looking for NOLA? More death and destruction in Oaxaca yesterday. They have had it rough this year.

Of course.

There's probably an app for your phone.

I try not to ride or race on dirt, but sometimes I have to. Same with gravel. A smattering is OK, but I still try to stay off of it.

If I lived in your terrain, I'd certainly do more to avoid it on the hills - descending is still an ass-clenching affair for me and climbing can be a slog when my rear wheel breaks free every time I stand. On the flats and rollers are good fun, but gravel hills are even less fun than regular hills for this Fatty McFatFat.

Standing when going uphill un-weights the rear wheel which is particularly problematic on loose surfaces - in the battle between rear wheel traction and the torque of my massive guads, these conditions tip the field in favor of the guads and the rear wheel will often slip.

Wow - bf doesn't like the shoulder shrug text character.

In any event, I thought that this morning was going to be washed out but, as of now, there's water on the ground but none falling from the sky. Time to saddle up, I guess. *shrug*

zero percent chance of rain before 2 PM here today so I rode this morning to avoid getting wet. No coffee made so no coffee fuel in my bottle. Of course it spit on me the whole ride but it wasn't too bad just messed with my spectacles a tad. I encountered no gravel.:) (NTTAWWT)

The weather forecasters need to HTFU so I don't get wet based on their advice/advise. Lets all keep @Velo Vol in our thoughts as the weather is not to his liking per channel 6 weather in Knoxville. He does so much for us around here with his trivia questions with bonus points awarded and of course his stellar post content.

Drinking coffee now so things are getting better, getting so much better all the time.

Great game for Hendricks. Right before the Bryzzo hits, my wife said "Now it starts." A couple bad pitches and that was the difference.
