I hope to receive a dumptruck load of stone, and another of limestone sand, as well as cement and lime, for construction project beginning next week. That's tomorrow. I hope to go for ride on Sunday.

They're racing at 'dega on Sunday. Trucks on Saturday. NHRA this weekend down in Texas, and there may be the first 340 mph pass. This is 1000 feet, btw, because the 1/4 mile went away after Scott Kalitta died. There's some football, and some baseball going on too.
Halloween lights are up, so I have all weekend to do as I please. |

Start a thread on the best fuel for lip endurance? What about for lip recovery? Did Chuck Mangione play the flugelhorn?

My fav lens was the 100-400 dustpump for football in daylight.

Hmph, maybe I should use my 80-400 for a change, sharp as a tack but it focuses slow as hell. I値l prolly stick with my 150-500, a time-tested workhorse.
And maybe another with wide angle. |

I went to the May race in Talledega back in 2012 or 2013. It is only about two hours from where I live in NW Atlanta. I have nothing going on besides grilling steaks on Sunday and watching college football and maybe some baseball. Also some wine to go with the steaks. The weather has moderated so longer rides are easier but we aren't talking about riding. I might go to a nearby park Saturday with the wife and people watch and listen to music under a tree after lunch for an hour or so.

The new version of that is outstanding.
Funny story: My wife ran her first marathon, and the whole family drove down to the finish, which was an ordeal trying to get in place on a long straight stretch before she passed by. I brought the 7D and 100-400, planning to get a bunch of approach shots, and was being super clever using the zoom to try to hunt for her among thousands of runners approaching in the distance... also using the timing chip and live tracking. Looking, looking, "where the heck is she?" Then as I'm focused in the distance, I hear "oh hi honey" and she's already passing way too close to get a shot with such a long lens. :crash: |
