Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

From today's ride. A better pic of the Paramount. It sure is a nice ride with those Open Pavés on it. Part of today's ride was gravel, and it did just fine.

The Saturn is going on forever if I have my way. Regardless of her tuition bill (or lack thereof, her private French Horn instructor is nominating her for a full-tuition scholarship, but I don't know if she will get it).

She should retake them, and this time give it her all. You never know, a free ride may be had at a top tier school.

I blame Facebook. I've seen it several times lately.

BTW, @datlas, I'm sure that you've seen the recommendation to not show up with mistletoe at any of this year's office parties.

Oh, and don't eat any potatoes.

She is bright enough that if she tried, she could probably get perfect scores. But since she wants to study music education the SATs are not that important anyway so I think the >700 on both math and verbal are "good enough."

Sorry, this is staff only.

They needed a sucker, I mean volunteer, to host the party. Guess whose house we are using....

Dumb trainer

Lame compared to serious cyclists but better than the couch. Edit: kind of wussed out on the third interval
