Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fake bike ride in the morning (done) and a solo movie (Capt Marvel) in the afternoon - love the kids, but it's nice to have a day off.

I-80 is closed from Rock Springs to Rawlins. And much of I-25 in WY is closed.

The big trek announcement isn't a helmet or frame material. But it will change cycling forever, they are going to make me fast.

It'll be good for us to catch a break - it's already bad enough here. Had to drive the boy to school today because a number of the school buses are having problems navigating the roads. It's been light rain since yesterday, but we had a fresh snow over the weekend and they didn't get around to plowing many of residential streets. That, coupled with a lot of buried storm drains, means a lot of standing water over rutted ice. Fun times.
Probably. Once our rain goes through tonight, we’re looking at high winds and warm temps. Maybe even 60s.

I've seen some hype links but haven't clicked on any of them. What could it be?

Nuclear powered ebikes?
Beryllium frames?
They're bringing back lugs?

Once spent the 4th of July in Rawlins. Got a motel because the KOA was right next to I-80 and had little shade. A group of Dutch cyclist had warned me about the place the day before in Jeffrey City. Checked it out. They were spot on. Next morning I rode on I-80 from Sinclair to the exist for Saratoga. On the way to Sinclair I met a local who was riding to work at the refinery. He said the afternoon SW wind can turn something like a 20 min. ride home into an hour.

Good news. My man-cold is pretty much history, and we had a fun-filled 12.6 rider 50 miler today. One rider had to turn away early so that's why 12.6.

I have a couple of 13-26 9-speeds.

That reminds me, I need to get rid of the roadie cassette on the full suspension rig and put one of the $5 11-32t cassettes on there.
