I'd rather not post directly. IMO it doesn't take much imagination.

Vain, But Lacking Talent
Well, it looks like I just booked a super last minute trip to NYC for next week. Work stuff. But I'll be staying near Union Square and far away from my favorite bagel place. Any recommendations for bagels or pizza in Lower Manhattan?

We could also take bets on how long it takes for me to get kicked out of the Rapha store if I go in and practice my bottle spin on every available bottle.

In a condo in Nashville with horizontal rain. Oh, well, it’s snowing 5-6” accumulation by midnight at home so there’s that.

The real beauty of the hot weather we have here is that the evenings are simply delightful. Right now it's a perfect 87°A, with a light breeze and very low humidity. Did I say delightful?
I'll be heading to the airport, shortly, to pick up the next round of visitors. Mala comunicación between my wife and I means she has the car at the beach and we had to hire a neighbor for the airport pickup. She freely admitted her attention span is close to nil. I can vouch for that. And she has tunnel vision too.

I've been racking my brain to put up something that has noting to do with cycling. Finally inspiration found me based on my life in the deep South - a New Orleans funeral. Putting a smile on people instead of a frown is a worthy goal. Ain't no place like N'olins.
As a bonus and because I like dixiland/blues, for your enjoyment, I hope;

I've not been there in years but Kat's Delicatessen on Houston St. is a classic NY Jewish deli, been around since 1888. You can get awesome sandwiches and I would be surprised if their bagels were not award winning also. It would be a 10 block walk but worth it if you have some free time. https://ny.eater.com/2019/8/28/20829...w-pastrami-nyc

That's the theory behind the business: Stock a relatively limited number of products, but make them good quality. The belief is that you shouldn't need a choice of 7 different brands of Dijon mustard or 20 different types of soup to have a quality shopping experience. They recently opened a new place on Arch Street, not that far from my office and close to the Reading Terminal. I can go at lunch. The other one in town is not on my route home and not in a direction I would go during lunch. it also gets insanely crowded, especially before a snow storm. One year I went a day before an impeding storm and there was a long line just to get into the damn store. No thanks.

Those statues or rather the little shelters or bathtubs or whatever they it is they stand in, are said to be intentionally yonic, as are the rose windows in cathedrals. It’s a mother goddess cult, NTTAWWT.

There is very good pizza with a wonderfully thin crust and great stuff on top, few blocks east of Union Sq. at 2nd Ave and 18th St. The place is called “Posto” and I think they also have a bit of a wine bar. Bagels are the same everywhere.

I was watching this, which is meh at best. It does beg the question, though: when you've sailed with a crew, do you sing songs to pass the time?
