Not sure if anyone here follows Phil Gaimon. He just posted a “teaser” video about his latest Everesting attempt but does not say if he broke the record. Truth to come in a few days.
Needless to say, Everesting is stupid. I thought about trying it when I first heard about it. But not gonna do it. Wouldn’t be prudent.

These boats are incredibly cool from a tech perspective. Would love a ride as going fast is always fun. But, the racing is not that interesting. Pick a side and go fast. I miss the tacking duels and other tactical things that were involved in conventional monohull racing.

Pretty wild crash. Mericans now 0-4 which doesn’t look so good.

The new America's Cup boats are fugly. I admit to being an old geezer but I'll explain my view which is nor bases on "older is better'. Newport harbor has half a dozen or more 12 meter boats still in service. Those boats were built to Loyds standards thus strong and durable. One or two of them were built of wood back in the 1950's I believe. Ted Turner bought one during his racing days and turned it into an ocean racer he campaigned successfully for several years. Those boats worked but were also gracefull and look elegant even today.
I don't believe cup boat designs should have been stopped and never progress beyond the 12 meter class. But the new boats are designed to attract sponsors and their million$. In the meantime they are not useful beyond the year they are built. They will beyond doubt be on the scrap heap in months. We don't need more trash in the world.

So zwifters, I have a question.
2 group rides in a row, at the conclusion of the ride zwift says congratulations you raised your ftp and set a new average wattage this last time was 242 watts ave. But, then I look at strava 220 watts. I dont get it. Watts going on here?

A friend used to race the local circle tracks and even figure eights. He spent all his money building cars and engines. One day he discovered 4 cylinder claiming races. He said it was the most fun ever because you could hold the throttle wide open all the time and you couldn't spend a lot on the car because if you won somebody could claim it.

I've had a broken spoke on the rear of my town bike for a month now. I'm still waiting for it to go out of true

Had a good but chilly ride.
My drivetrain skipping problem persists. I discovered after paying more attention that the skipping chain is on the FRONT chainring. It might be worn, it likely has 35K miles on it. I do have a spare new chainring on the pegboard, and if that does not solve the problem I may have to throw in the towel and take it to a real mechanic.

Your FTP is calculated by the game. It’s NOT the same as your average power for the ride.
