Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Gino's and Pat's are apparently the two "it" places to go for Philly Cheesesteaks. I suspect the quality is mediocre but they have the brand/reputation.

Once it's not news, it's history. It might not be what we think of as "history", and it might be (very) recent history, but it's history.

Speaking of taxes, I am going to have to stop procrastinating and get to work on them soon.

That's my guess.

For the Christians, lots of things free up on Easter Sunday.

Got my return back from the CPA Monday. Only have to "pay" $650!

Of course, that does not include what I've already paid.

Ouch. Turbo Tax is less, but obviously may not be adequate for your needs.

My taxes are pretty easy. I do have a bit of K-1 income from work but otherwise it's pretty simple.

I somehow screwed up my withholding so I got close to 8k back. I generally try to have it be somewhere in the $0 range.

FIL does ours, in large part because he already has TurboTax for them. And most of the complication for our taxes comes from stuff they set up for AG.

We also had my employer withhold an extra $400/month because hers never calculates correctly for the large bonuses they hand out, so we usually wound up owing and hated that. Got $3k back this year.

That's not the CPA fee, that's the tax I owe. I'm quite happy with that because it's about as close to -0- as one can get.

My CPA fees are just under $1,000 per year, but that includes state franchise tax returns, a corporate return, pass through entities, real estate investments, taxable investment accounts, and oil and gas interests. Well worth it to me to pay that.

To be honest I actually misread it at first, but to go back and fix the response would be lame.

Good news! I am finishing up early and leaving work.

Bad news, it's rainy and dreary and 44F out, so no post-work bike ride. Phooey!
