Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

our 5 year old had an interesting course of COVID last week. went to school feeling great. came home crying and crying due to a headache. woke up with a 105.x fever. multiple positive test results. spent one day in bed, unhappy, feverish. woke up the next morning with no or nearly no fever, “can I go back to school today!?!?!?” presumably eris or fornax and if the studies are to be believed, she’s had it before, was certainly exposed to me and her big sister when we had it, and is vaccinated. sneaky bug to get through all that immunity.

It seems to be making the rounds again. Someone on the team at work tested positive recently at well. Fortunately no CC's onsite, as it developed over the weekend.

High replication/transmission rate under strong selective pressure - the key to rapid evolution. Just ask HIV.

I feel absolutely horrible now. According to fit bit HRV is way down as excpected. Breathing rate is outside normal range 19 BPM. Oxygen saturation is still in the 97 percent.

I really hope I don’t get my family sick. Unfortunatly right when I walked into the door my wife wanted to go run and handed me Simon. I wasn’t positive yet and figured just a sinus infection. I did make a point to keep putting him down and I didn’t get in his face. Took a test soon after she left and as soon as I saw postive I threw a M95 on.

Fluids and Tylenol. I expect you will be feeling much better in 2-3 days.

My friend Bob, in Maine, has it
And hasn't been able to ride yet this summer, due to rain. Now there will be the fatigue. The summer with no riding.

Yeah it went to wider and shorter (rounder overall) and that caused fitment changes. Sorry; I would have told you if I knew it hadn't been clear from random comments.

Still honestly surprised you were that close to the edge of pinch flats.

Could, but in this case don't. Possibly Michigan humour about their roads, but since I haven't been there in decades, I don't get it.

Speaking of road construction, there's a road in west Knox County that they've been working on to expand from two lanes to four for a few miles. It has to be the slowest construction project on earth. China could build a new, 50-mile highway in the time they've been working on it. Two or three years, with probably another one to go.

One was a bad pothole and one was a bad luck rock. Those might have pinched regardless of PSI. Only one flat was unexpected.

I found on ****** where someone broke down a fluid 2 trainer.

They were unsuccessful, meaning I’m definitely going to be as well. After fluids, parts, and tools I don’t have, it’s a lost cause.

he’s dead, Jim.

I guess my return to the bike is on hold until I can replace it. Or the weather cools off.

I can’t think of cheap options at the moment, and I’m not getting on my wife’s peloton (gross)…

Technically, getting another fluid 2 is an option, but swift really seems to want erg capabilities in its workouts now. The experience was a pain before, now it’s even more so.
