Yeah, the Ellsworths attention to detail have always been amazing, they've just (in the past I'm guessing) been underbuilt in places. If I had to buy an FS bike tomorrow, it would be a tough choice between a Turner and a Maverick. Titus' seem well made though.

jock 03-09-06 05:03 PM

They're not biting Thylo.

What's happened? Have they become.... no, it couldn't be ... laid back!!!???

badsac 03-09-06 05:10 PM

I think they're just all drugged into a stupor over there.

jock 03-09-06 05:12 PM

Well they've got a hide. Apathy can be a dangerous thing in the hands of amateurs, and is best left to the experts. :D

HDTVKSS 03-09-06 07:29 PM

It seems that Aussie apathy is so strong that most wish it would be made a sport. id go watch if i could be bothered....

classic1 03-09-06 08:25 PM

Q: What is the difference between ignorance and apathy?
A: I don't know and I don't care.

Brian 03-09-06 08:30 PM

Excuse me. No one bothered to PM or email that link. You guys suck. 6-8 inches of snow in the last 24 hours. Todays low, -2. The high? 1. :D

matagi 03-09-06 08:32 PM

Well, that was a bit of a damp firecracker, wasn't it?

Maybe you should start another steel vs ally vs carbon thread, that should bring a few flamethrowers out of the woods.

Or go to "Training and Nutrition" and start bagging low-carb diet junkies and vegans.

jock 03-09-06 08:39 PM

Enjoying life on the dark side, Expat?

Brian 03-09-06 08:43 PM

Well, I wasn't the one that sold our Carrera GT yesterday. Don't even want to know what you get for selling a $400k+ car. :(

jock 03-09-06 08:48 PM

You work at a Porsche dealership???? Wait till the guys over in the Living Car Free thread hear about this!!! :D

Brian 03-09-06 08:54 PM

Here's the kicker. Guy buys himself a Carrera GT, drives it for a month. Hurricane Katrina hits. He feels guilty, as no one should drive a 1/2 million dollar car when people are homeless. So he donated it to his church, which in turn sold it to the dealership, and used the money to aid people displaced by the hurricane. So someone just paid over $400k for a used car. Yeah, the car-free guys won't like me know, but I can make them a deal on a Hummer.:D

Hey exy,

A very good point. My brother had a Porsche MTB.

HDTVKSS 03-09-06 09:39 PM

there was a nice porsche MTB for sale in melbourne on EScam latley if anyone wanted to experience the prestige of paying well to much for a badge on a bike .

then again , i guess people do that everyday for a Trek ;)

I was drooling over a 9.9 hardtail yesterday, mmmmmmmm

HDTVKSS 03-09-06 10:19 PM

jaysus, $8500 for a hardtail...... somones earning too much money!

Didnt say I was buying... just drooling :(

I did however join the carbon bar club on the MTB (FSA XC risers), new XT dual controls + discs and XTR crankset :-)

Did i mention I scored the cranks free, and a set of DA 10spds? :D

HDTVKSS 03-09-06 10:40 PM

carbon bars has always been somwhere i fear to tread on my MTB. I have FSA alloy bars. i should probably just suck it up and get over it... I have a carbon seatpost, but even that makes me nervous, 1st time i rode a carbon post my fat ass managed to snap it out at manly dam.

you will love the XT dual controls. one of the best ever MTB inventions IMHO. XTR cranks for free? where do i get some eh? :P have fun paying for new chainrings in the meantime, i couldnt beleive how expensive they are.....

it'll crack for sure.

I know a bloke who had the Trek hardtail, loved it, cracked it after 2 years or racing it. Did get a full warranty though and got a Trek Fuel dually instead which ain't bad.

HDTVKSS 03-09-06 11:20 PM

aparantly the trek duallys are a fast piece of kit. i know a guy who had one who swears it was the best piece of kit he ever owned. he now works for an opposing manufacturer and it near killed him to sell it. would have loved to have gotten it, but it was too big for me :(

jock 03-10-06 02:28 AM

How do you know so many industry types HDT?

HDTVKSS 03-10-06 03:30 AM

i only know a couple. mainly i know people who happen to introduce me to other ppl. would probably help if i was fast enough to get sponsorship.

thats probably the biggest wet dream i have. somone to come up to me and actually give me somthing for free for riding.
