a 'google' brought up 250 conditions which can cause a dry sore throat including Anthrax.

OR

you could always try the hot water/Vicks/towel over head treatment.
Good luck

Don't have it in your hand then, hide it in your bottle.....

Betadine sore throat gargle will disguise the symptoms of a sore throat for a while, but I would guess that with the heavy mouth breathing associated with crit racing you might be better off necking a couple of Nurofen plus and hoping for the best

Here's a personal experience from the Ripleys Believe It or Not files:

Got my CTP greenslip about 3 months after a minor at fault bingle and as expected the price had gone up (by about 25% ). I just happened to be near an NRMA office out shopping one day, so I dropped in to pay it. I nearly fell out of my tree when the nice lady behind the counter said "Oh, you had a little accident recently. Not much damage was there? Let me fix that for you." I hadn't said a word about the bingle (in case they hiked the price up some more). She just took it upon herself to set the price back to what it had been!!!!!

And to think I could have used one of their other 'Convenient payment methods' and got taken to the cleaners

I think you dreamed that.

Could never happen in the real world.

I tend to just let reality make itself up as I go along Ed

Get this....my gym is down to 1/2 size due to renos. Has been for about 4 months, probably will be for the next 3 or 4 months as well.

Squat rack...gorne
Dip station....gorne
Cushioned floor for DLs.....gorne

same # of members, crammed into 1/2 the space.

My renewal falls due in late Jan, up about $70 from last year. When I enquired about a rebate due to the reduced space and facilities, the dim bulb at the front desk looked at me like I had two heads.

Clearly you should have taken the blue pill that day

It is on the Specified Subtances list, so I would only have to prove that it was not being used to enhance performance. I guess I could get any number of girls from my chequered past to vouch for me on that count

390 posts and I haven't posted in this version of the AT yet. That's disgraceful. Guess I haven't had any dumb questions to ask. So I'll ask one now.

Mate bough a second hand Trek 1200 (about a 2002 model I think). Not sure what wheels are on it. They have a high spoke count but he keeps on busting spokes in the rear. He's only a light bugger (70kg for a 6 footer) so it's not his weight. His bike shop rekons he needs to get the wheel rebuilt. So he was thinking he'd put some decent spokes in it, but nothing to expensive. Wanting a second opinion other than what the shop will palm off on me, he was wondering what spokes he should get.

What you boys rekon?

62vette 12-08-05 06:13 PM

DT Competition spokes, he'll have a job breaking those.

The latter will take of the former.

Brian 12-08-05 06:25 PM

DT spokes, properly tensioned. At that weight, he could use coat hangers without worry.

Jock, we've got that little Avanti on sale for $100 off.

jock 12-08-05 06:33 PM

So its only $200 now?

jock 12-08-05 06:36 PM

Unanimous verdict so far. I had 36 spokes of DT swiss stainless on my old clunker bike and never went out of true in 8 years of severe abuse. Excellent spokes
