The Zipp was just to make us drool. Yep, his bike looks OLD.
Funny to hear everyone talking about gearing, I mentioned I was on 86 and a few people had a chuckle and said, jeez you must be spinning it out!, FWIW, Grant was on 86 when he did the 11s 200m :D
Gear:schmear, Bike:schmike.

It does, I think they are marketing it as a track bike/SS road bike. hence the inclusion of brakes.

This is a mates shop in the UK.
Think it might be similar to Climbos http://www.dooleys-cycles.co.uk/prod...?ProductID=576

86 is pretty short for general use on adcock. OK for 200m fly and tactical sprints but that's about all. The track is just too long for short gears in other events, even the 1 lap standing.

Concensus seems to be 88/89 for the sprinters, 89/90/91 for the grinders.

Excuse me if I don't get all excited over Trek bringing out a fixie and a singlespeeder. It's kinda like Maccas bringing out a new Texas BBQ baguette.

yeah, bikes are cheaper in many other countries, so it might be a good idea to wait

i nearly start bawling my I eyes when I keep seeing how cheap these Yanks get their bikes. :(

yer, there was a thread on the MTB side of things asking how/why anyone would pay 240 odd dollars for a SRAM x0 derailer. If only i could pay 240 from a new X0! ( not that im a SRAM user... )

Yeah, there was a guy on here ages ago b1tching about spending ~$550 US on a brand new Lemond Zurich frame, and all the other Yanks were saying, "yeah, you can do heaps better than that"!!!!!

The Cervelo Superprodigy frame-set was selling for about $900 US (or less?), which is $1260 AUS, and my SUPER DUPER OOPER HAGGLING cash deal for my Superprodigy, that had a big scratch on it and a dinted BB shell, was $1700!!!!

i dont know what their road set is going to be like, but i shute hope its stronger than their MTB set! several occurances of derailers exploding at a weak point. i think its caused by the fact that they wont move verticly like a shimano one will , hence it just brakes the derailer at the weakerst point when theres stress applied ( like a big stick!). from experience a Shimano derailer will jam, probably bend the hanger but survive.

Anyone want to buy a faulty satellite? We had a bit of a problem with Sky Digital TV last night. Had to do the dishes and go to bed early :p

Um, no thanks. By the way, I feel very un-hooked up right now. Seems like I was able to score better deals from the US when I was still in Oz. I need to set up my fast computer and get down to business soon. We've put in an offer on a 2nd house the other day.
