And maybe you should change you name to 531Arnie.

Patty, USD8 for a sixer of Coopers is a cracking deal. Kewl, I'll have something to drink if I can convince Shewhomubo I need to go to Interbike this year.

Hey, anyone had Hargreaves Hill Pale ale (Yarra Valley), Red Hill anything (Red Hill) or Scharers Lager (Picton, NSW)?
Three absolutely crackin' beers.

Still doin my bit to pimp Thylo's gear. Although I'd do a better job of it if I'd get a nice custom steel HT for nix.

Makes a silk purse out of all of us sows ears. Probably the only thing that got me over the line was that jersey, such is the inspiration it gives! (Do I get my new frame yet?)
Thylo honoured the warranty on your jersey yet jock?

Interbike is at the end of September.....and why didn't people tell me the last time I was there that drinks were free? I think I spent 200 bucks one night just gettin on the wallop (Thank YOU .48 exchange rate). Must also remember to bring ID to the clubs, too. "Do I look under 21 to you mate?" doesn't appear to work like it does here.

Speaking of beer, these dudes just won best beer in Australia.

Beer aged in oak? Apparently.
Yeah, I have a couple of jerseys left. Looks like there's a medium in there. No plans for a 'crash replacement' policy on the jerseys, Fockers cost too damn much.

Bikes: 2006 Trek 5200, Avanti Corsa Pro, Giant Yukon, Ricardo Cro-Mo, 1992 Mongoose pro-comp, 1980 DiamondBack senior pro, 1980 Quicksilver... half a dozen other BMX bikes in various stages of completion.
Pump report fer matagi:
Took a good look at the Road Morph. It's a great idea having it turn into a floor pump, every review I've read was a good 'un, but they're a bit more cumbersome than I expected. Definitely not 5cm wide
, but with the hose running up the side, it's the length of a road pump and the width of a wide MTB pump.
After asking at the shop, I was pointed to one that Oz mentioned:
Mine is by a mob called "Bike Essentials" - Taiwanese, aloominum body.
All the blokes in the shop had 'em on their bikes and reckoned that they were a good thing.
It's rated to 160psi - dunno 'bout that but as soon as I got home, I let me front tyre down and gave it a shot.
110psi in less than a couple of minutes without any fuss so I reckon 130+ wouldn't be out of the question.
The hollow handle has a lid on it fer patches (supplied) and a schraeder adapter (also supplied).
It almost disappears when it's clipped to the frame (bracket uses bottle cage mount bolts)

[edit] oh, and it was $36 as opposed to $60 fer the Morph.

what's the latest on which beer won't gimme a headache?
I tracked down the "Black" that Sacco recommended, which wasn't too bad, but it's a bit hard to get and I wasn't crazy about the taste.

This was at the shop with the Trek 5200, which of course has one of these pumps on it.
After pointing out to SWMBO that the Trek had one, she asked "why the hell did you just buy one if that Trek's already got one?"
Music to my ears

This Scapin S2, made from Columbus Altec2 alu, is the siffest bike I've ever had or ridden. In fact, it was too stiff and uncumfortable, so I took it back after 3 weeks and swapped it for my alu Cinelli

Shiping a bike internationally from Oz
Perhaps this should be posted under the General forum, but the sticky Aussie thread seems a little more relevantly targeted.
Can anyone in Oz suggest how I can cost-effectively ship a bike from Sydney to Hong Kong? A bike box exceeds the dimensions allowed by Australia Post, and a courier company would charge $400 for it (assuming they can handle the size anyway).
Thanks.

I have a FedEx account. I'll e-mail them and see how much they want. What are the dimensions of the box and how heavy is it? If that doesn't work out, ship the wheels and the frame seperately. You should be able to squeeze each of those three boxes down to Aust Post-able sizes.

That won't work Thylo. Austpost's fantastic 'cubic weight' restrictions come into play:
"If the parcel is box-shaped, then its length (its longest dimension) must not exceed 105 cm. The girth, measured around the two other dimensions, must not exceed 140 cm."
So a boxed wheel will be too big at 75cm + 20cm + 75cm + 20cm = 190cm girth.

Wouldn't it just go on the plane with you as luggage, womble?
Expat's an expert on flying bikes, maybe he could give you some tips after he's finished perving at the snow bunnies in Utah.

Alright, now we're on a topic I've got some ahem expertise with.
COOPERS.
Pale Ale.
A case a week enters my gullet and no nasty side effects yet. Nectar of the gods. And not so strong as to rip your balls off, which the Ale can do.
And yep, the blacks can be a bit gentler the next day than a normal beer.
Beer. More is more.
