Bikes: 2006 Trek 5200, Avanti Corsa Pro, Giant Yukon, Ricardo Cro-Mo, 1992 Mongoose pro-comp, 1980 DiamondBack senior pro, 1980 Quicksilver... half a dozen other BMX bikes in various stages of completion.
It's so ingrained that when I wheelie a motorbike, (we used to do such childish things at warmup/practice
) and it starts getting a bit high, instead of using the rear (right foot) brake, I always grab the left bloody hand lever cos part of my brain thinks I'm on a pushie and it's the rear brake.
I had a reputation fer being quite **** at them cos of that.

on the whole brake thingy. I always had the back brake on the right, every bike. BMX with one lever only, right. Whe I started riding Motorcycles, I would have to really think it out a lot, sometimes in traffic I would be hard on the front brake with the clutch in as well???
No problems now. It seems natural to have the front on either side for either bike.
Well sometimes I confuse myself at 5:30 am going down a local hill to meet the lads when I'm still half asleep and I keep asking myself which brake is which? I just feather them both then.

I just cleaned the rear rim up, havent bothered to see if its done anything. Did notice however that the wheel has a slight spot where it isnt true, I am not bothering to fix it. Should I?

Get the wheel trued (or do it yourself) It will definitely make the brakes grab.

Jeez you fellas have been busy... Nice pickup on the new bike.... happy riding.
Watch out for US helmets if you intend to race as the dont have the Aussie compliance sticker.
Q. Is this a problem for regular riding?
Oh yeah and I saw Adam & the Ants live at the glasgow apollo when I was 10, my mum took me and my brother and some friends... there was an intermission and she told us the concert was over and took us home at halfway
That was after getting stuck in a toilet cubicle and having to climb out...

Mmmm.....Monteith's Pilsner
This is me splurging coz I'm doing two Ti frames this week.
Beer: 14 bucks. Cheese, Corriander and pickled Jalapeno Questadillas: 3 bucks. Tucking into both while surfin' bike pron? PRICELESS!
A racing organisation would have to be total arseholes not to allow you to race with a non-Australian Standard helmet. Everyone knows the Aussie Standards are just a revenue raising exercise anyway. I mean, I know our heads are worth more than a Seppos just by nature, but as long as it's SNELL or ASTM or CE certified, I know I'm happy with that.

I've always had the brakes as right-front on every bike I've had. I only realised this year that they're cabled up differently in other countries. It has been much less confusing mixing motorcycling and cycling with the front on the right on both.
With the rear wheel, if it's just a bump on one rim, you can smooth it out with wet and dry. If it's both sides and you're not sure you can true it up yourself, go see your LBS and they'll charge a couple of bux to fix it on the spot
